DV 2023 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Only

Great!! Congratulations.
I paid the 330 on July 1st and I didn’t get my receipt yet,, any suggestions?!
It usually takes up to 4-5 weeks. in my case it took more than 2 months and they did not cash my money orders, then mom advised me to send another set of money order regarding the mistake which I had in writing in the memo part of my first money orders. I did so and then email KCC many times to receive my receipt. I refunded my first set of money orders

Today my family ( my spouse and two kids) and I had interview and now status for all of us changed to New Card Is Being Produced. I would like to say billions thanks to mom who helped me a lot throughout this process. I know this process was more complicated and hard to proceed without getting support and advise from mom. Here is my time line from Los Angeles:
May 31th : AOS packages were delivered
July 11th :Fingerprints were taken
July 15th : IL were received
July 25th: Interview were taken
July 25th: status online changed to 'New card is being produced'

I wish every one have this status as soon as possible.
Mom thanks again for your kind support. This world needs more people like you: kind, supportive and thoughtful
Wooow, congrats fahima !

Oh wow! This is great - I can finally rest from you :D:D:D - Congratulations :)

p.s. remember to keep updating the Timeline spreadsheet.

Hello guys, I received my NOA 20 days ago. But, I haven't got my Biometric Schedule notice. My lockbox is Elgin, FO is Atlanta and there is none cases from Atlanta. From last timelines, Biometric Schedule is received within 10 days. Should I wait patiently or start a congressional inquiry too? PS: I am too nervous and added my case in the timeline.

You listed your NOA received date as 7/12 on the Timeline Spreadsheet, that does not add to 20 days ago by my calculation. Bio scheduling is based on how busy the applicable ASC is (you do not have your ASC listed). Nonetheless, I wouldn’t recommend “wasting” congressional inquiry to chase down the bio notice at this point - think of congressional inquiry as a single-use slingshot, a one time opportunity that may be required to be used later on. In the interim, you can try chatting Emma or calling the USCIS 1-800 number to find out if your bio appointment has been scheduled.

As I mentioned earlier, my ASC and FO is Atlanta. There is 0 case of Atlanta in 2023. There were cases of 2022 and they got bio letter after 10days

You mentioned earlier, your FO was Atlanta, not your ASC which also wasn’t previously listed on the Timeline Spreadsheet like I pointed out. Yes, I’m aware there’s no other case from your FO listed on the 2023 Timeline spreadsheet, I can see that. Anyway, my previous response still stands, but feel free to initiate a congressional inquiry for the bio if you like.

1-My lawyer
2- sorry mom what is SASE? But i dont know.
Another confirmation about your lawyer not being knowledgeable enough to handle a DV based AOS application. The receipt is supposed to come by posted mail and not email. In order to get back the payment receipt, you (or your lawyer) is supposed to have included a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) with the payment - that is what gets used for sending back the receipt. If your lawyer is saying the receipt comes by email, it means they did not include the SASE with the payment.

Not sure why you decided to use a lawyer for a process you could have handled yourself - all you needed to do was to have diligently studied the AOS Process Spreadsheet and followed the step by step guidance provided. You opted to pay someone to basically fill out and submit your forms on your behalf, while you are now running around trying to gather the needed information.

*And yeah i am thinking now to continue with my self depending on the spread sheet

Hi @Sm1smom,

Yesterday I finally received two text messages (one for form I-485 and one for form I-765). This is the text:
USCIS: Your case was received. Receipt #XXX. Official Receipt Notice (Form I-797C) to follow in mail.

I haven't received any e-notifications yet or mail with Form I-797C, but I logged into my USCIS account and these are the messages in Case status:
Form I-485

Fingerprint Fee Was Received

On July 24, 2023, we accepted the fingerprint fee for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number XXX. Our National Benefits Center location is working on your case. We mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Form I-765

Case Was Received

On July 5, 2023, we received your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, Receipt Number XXX, and sent you the receipt notice that describes how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you have any questions, contact the USCIS Contact Center at www.uscis.gov/contactcenter. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

What is the next step? Can I try to walk-in for biometrics before I receive the form I-797C (which I assume is the notice describing how my case will be processed)?

Thank you!

You have to wait to receive a notification letter for biometric appointment. when they assign you a date for doing biometric then you can try for walk-in biometric before determinate date

Do you have a mailing delivery proof from your lawyer, or you're going by what he told you about having made the payment? Do you know the form of payment used? If you know the form of payment used, you will need to track it online in order to confirm if the payment has been processed. Once you're able to confirm that, then you can email KCC and request they send you a copy of your payment receipt, let them know you forgot to include the SASE with the payment. Including evidence of the payment having been processed with the email you're sending to KCC will be of help towards hopefully getting an appropriate email response back from them.

The two text messages you received are your e-notifications. You will not receive any other e-notification after this. The I-797(Notice of Action/Receipt) itself should show up in your mailbox in the next couple of days. The bio notice is different from the I-797 (Notice of Action/Receipt), this will also show up later on.

Take a look at the "AOS Process" tab/section of the AOS Process Spreadsheet - the steps are listed there.

He used form g-28

Wow congrats! Did you do any prodding to help your case along ie. via EMMA or your congressman? Your turnaround (NOA --> IL) was pretty quick compared to other LA cases.

???? what???

Seems to me like you really do not know what your lawyer has done with your case to date. Form G-28 is not used for making the DV Administrative Fee payment, that is simply the form that gets included in your AOS package stating the lawyer is authorized to make an appearance on your behalf. And just like I guessed, you really don't know if that payment was even made in the first place!

You had better spend some quality time going over the AOS Process Spreadsheet to ensure you have a good grasp of what should be happening with your case and to help guide your conversation with your lawyer
