DV 2023 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Only

Hi there, a few quick questions regarding the first step i.e paying the DV fee of $330.

1. Should I make the money order out as $660 for 2 people, or do I need x2 money orders (both for $330 each?)??
2. The DV fee requires address information and SASE, will I have the receipt mailed back out to me? I'm just wondering if I should use my permanent or temporary address, it comes while I am away from home. What do you recommend?
3. How long does it usually take for them to send the receipt back?
Sorry I forgot to put my case number, it's OC12xx

1. A single money order is fine.
2. Yes. Would you loose access to your permanent address while away? If not, I would use the permanent.
3. 4-10 weeks.

I don’t know if that will be enough. There’s a reason they request the documents as proof of what is being claimed.
Thanks again sm1mom for reply.
I'm thinking there is likely to have been have cases in the history of 1485 (Adjustment of Status) of missing passports and/or I-94 forms, so are you aware if USCIS has a position or advise on what an applicant could o in such an event.
Any info or links will be appreciated

Hi, sorry I have another question. I remember reading somewhere on this forum or in your instructions about the difference between mailing address versus permanent address for I-485. Thanks in advance!

1. Which address will be used for the interview: the mailing address or the permanent address?
2. If the greencard is approved, is it sent to the permanent address or the mailing address?

Hello mom

I want to make FTJ fill out I-824 for my family there are 3 people that are outside the US, I would like to know if I have to fill out each one with their I-824 or all the information for the 3 goes on one form?

Another question what documents should I attach when submitting I-824 to USCIS?

I didn't send my DS260 along with the complete package, can I send my DS260 in my online account to USCIS? Is there no harm?
1. One I-824.
2. Please read the instructions for the I-824.
3, DS260 is not required to be included with the AOS package.

On a side note, not sure if you’re already aware, the FTJ process is into as simple for DV based AOS as it may sound. I recommend you take a look at the FollowToJoin tab of the DV Tracker Spreadsheet to see the success rate and read the reports of some past DV selectees who attempted the FTJ option.

Hi

Hi Mom,

I just received this notice in my mail. What's said in the letter isn't true. I am scheduled to graduate on May 12, 2023. I sent them all my I20's and I94 as at the time I sent the documents in January.

So in response to this, I believe I am supposed to resend the I-20's (I have 3 of those, 2 CPTs and one for OPT requested). Do I send all to them or just those issued before January 26, 2023? I will add a copy of this REF notice and the I-94. Is there anything else to be added to these list?
Lastly, my uscis account nor the case status site doesn't show any update("It still says, finger print received"), how do I know when my response is received?
Thanks.
You should pay a visit to your DSO’s office to confirm your SEVIS status was not messed up at any point in time without your knowledge, obtain some form of written confirmation from them if you can. Include that with ALL of your I-20s from day one to date to demonstrate you’ve never fallen out of status. Then include a personal note documenting your status from day one to date also.

If I knew of any such a case which eventually succeeded in processing AOS,I would have shared the information with you already without you having to prompt me over and over again.

USCIS can be unpredictable, they could end up using either.

In I-485 form, it says "Are you applying for adjustment based on INA Act section 245 (i)"

Is the answer yes or no?

Thanks. I hope it won't be a problem when my DSO gets to know that I am adjusting my status. I mean, my F1 status won't be affected until my case is approved.

Hi guys, under question 61, is the answer yes or no? I'm not sure I understand the question below. I'm going to guess no?

1. Are you subject to public charge grounds of inadmisability under INA section 212 (a) (4)?

You’ll need to emphasize to your DSO you’re not currently approved, and are not requesting a status update to ensure your SEVIS status is not terminated when you contact them. Have that in writing if possible.

Answer NO.

Answer YES.

Take a look at the prefilled (sample) I-485

Hello Mom @Sm1smom, my wife and I have the interview on Tuesday. We were preparing all the documents and noticed that the IL mentions the
G-325A saying to bring a completed G-325A form. When I download this form, per USCIS... " Use this form to provide biographic information when submitting a request for deferred action for certain military service members and their family members, or non-military deferred action (other than deferred action based on Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), Violence Against Women Act A-3, G-5 nonimmigrants , and T and U nonimmigrant visas)." My question is if we do really need this form or it only apply to some categories.

Thanks,
N.

You can ignore this form. This is a general IL and G-325A is no longer in use for AOS.

Hello Mom,

I hope you are doing well,

A week ago, I placed an expedited request with a tier-2 agent. Yesterday, I got an email from them. It says:

"You or your representative requested an expedited review of your case. Your request has been granted and your case is now under expedited review. You should receive a decision or notice of further action within 30 from the date of this response.

We hope this information is helpful to you."

I doubt that this is any help and I do not have any hope for this but I just wanted to share it with you.

Hi @Hamo @Sm1smom

What is an expedited request and tier-2 agent? May I know the process, please?

Thank You.

Mom, from your silence to the post I shared above, I kinda understood that it was another meaningless effort‍♂️. It doesn’t mean anything right?
Your post did not contain any question, so there really was nothing for me to respond to. Like I already explained more than once I believe, your case seem to be under AP, there’s really not much (if anything) you can do about it at this point, outside of continuing to be patient.
