DV 2023 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Only

Hello, fam. It‘s been 30 days since congressman inquiry regarding my case. As you can see on a spreadsheet last update on my case applied on November 7, 2022. I reached out to a case worker yesterday , no response. My question is when is the best time to reach out to a California Senator? I’m willing to wait a little longer and hope for a breakthrough, lol. My FO is Los Angeles.

That’s a respond I’ve received throughout Emma chat yesterday:

I do show that your case is being processed, not showing anything outstanding, nothing due and no red flags in regards to the case. Your case is processing normally.

Any suggestion with a further steps will be highly appreciated.

Good job reviewing the copy of the form and fixing it. Everyone here should ask for the copy and do this.

While IO can ask for the RFE before scheduling the interview, there is nothing else that you can do at this point and there is no point in being worried about it. Also, most I-693 RFEs are issued after the interview. Take the updated letter along with you to the interview.

PS In fact there was an error in my I-693 that the receptionist at the CS office caught. I just took the updated letter along with me.

Thanks- this helps, and I plan to do so. I really appreciate you sharing your experience. 1) At the interview would I volunteer the corrected letter and explain the error or wait until/if asked?

2) would submitting the updated letter mean some delay in approval because of unsealing/reviewing etc again?

If your IO was planning on approving your case without an interview, yes the error could lead to a RFE for an updated medical report.

You’re stressing needlessly over the 2NL.
I highly recommend you slow down and thoroughly go through the FAQ of the AOS Process Spreadsheet, doing so with do you a lot of good.

Do you mean to say your congressman’s office is yet to respond to your request for case assistance, or that they’re yet to obtain any update from your FO? I’m asking this question because there’s nothing a senator can do that a congressman cannot do in terms of case inquiry assistance. Nonetheless, you may contact your Senator now if you like, or follow up with your congressman’s office to see if they’re able to obtain some new update, or remain patient considering you’re already aware LA FO’s slow processing times.

1. Yes you should point out the error and present the updated report.
2. Possibly. The IO will need some time to review the new report, better safe than sorry.

Do you think if the FO requested for evidence that mean they probably will waive the interview?

For my situation, IO simply opened the letter, reviewed the changes, and scanned it right away. It didn't appear to have affected the review process more than a few minutes.

It is your decision, but you can take the receipt along to the interview when you received it. As a matter of fact, I did this as opposed to wasting time on waiting for the receipt. Also I never included 2NL, never received it, and everything turned out to be just fine.

When you file your AOS package without receipt, did you see your MO got cash on that time?
Mine even MO was not cashed.
 
Hello mom, I hope you are doing well. I have a question regarding I-134: I was thinking of asking a friend to fill up the I-134 form for me. In the recent form, in question no 18 of Part 3, it asks: "Have you previously submitted a Form I-134 on behalf of a person other than the beneficiary listed on this Form I-134?"
The fact is 3 years ago, he had filled up I-134 for a guy in a DV process. Everything went fine; the guy came to the US and is doing great. Now my question is: does the word "previous" in the question mean at any point of time in the past? or is it simply asking in this fiscal year? If it is the first case, then is it safe to ask him to fill up I-134 form for me too?

The question is not limited to a current FY IMO. I interpret "previously" as "ever" in this case. That however does not preclude him from filling out the form for you also, especially if he's not currently providing any form of support to the previous person he acted as a sponsor for.

Yes, your CN became current in May (assuming you're not chargeable to Algeria, Egypt, (or Morocco which is current for June). I'm surprised you haven't made the administrative fee payment already.

Please can you explain to me how the FTJ works, I have family in Africa who need to go to the CP in my country to follow up the process.

I'm certain that one of the fees that I paid was not cashed for a while after I already had received the receipt. But I have to look back if that was the KCC money or the application fee. That's why I didn't immediately respond your previous post. (I think it was KCC's money because I think that was the only one that I used money order, but still not sure.)
 
Hi there, I just thought to relay my experience getting a medical done today. I had all blood tests, urine and x rays done in another country 3 weeks ago as per your spreadsheet to cover what was required here in the US. Took everything with me today. I also waited until after March 31st so I wouldn't need a flu shot. Couldn't make an appointment as they only accepted walk in's. It was $200 when I walked in. End result - doctor on the phone to CDC asking if they would except leprosy syphillis results etc, CDC said 'no' had to be done again. Accepted that. I didn't accept that the CDC told the doctor a flu shot to be given ! I had to have it! (Who was on the phone Fauci?) Walked out of office. $260 at check out. Waiting for results to go back and pick up paperwork. I'm wondering if another $200 for a walk in, on return to pick up paperwork. Oh well!
