DV 2023 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Only

Thank you very much Simon for the clarification, I'll hurry to make the payment and send the package.

Please can you explain to me how the FTJ works, I have family in Africa who need to go to the CP in my country to follow up the process.
Take a look at the FAQ section of the AOS Process Spreadsheet.

Hi there, I just thought to relay my experience getting a medical done today. I had all blood tests, urine and x rays done in another country 3 weeks ago as per your spreadsheet to cover what was required here in the US. Took everything with me today. I also waited until after March 31st so I wouldn't need a flu shot. Couldn't make an appointment as they only accepted walk in's. It was $200 when I walked in. End result - doctor on the phone to CDC asking if they would except leprosy syphillis results etc, CDC said 'no' had to be done again. Accepted that. I didn't accept that the CDC told the doctor a flu shot to be given ! I had to have it! (Who was on the phone Fauci?) Walked out of office. $260 at check out. Waiting for results to go back and pick up paperwork. I'm wondering if another $200 for a walk in, on return to pick up paperwork. Oh well!
This is an immigration forum. Let’s limit the discussions to the immigration process itself and keep out political affiliation, opinions, or sarcastic comments about Fauci (whom I’m sure there are some in this forum who highly respect what he presents) and such off the table please.

@Ablord Good luck on your interview today!
Thanks, @Dr.HPol - I'm grateful for this channel, as it has been instrumental in aiding my green card process. I extend my appreciation to @Sm1smom and other contributors who shared their experiences and offered guidance at every stage of the process. I've included my interview experience and updated my timeline accordingly. I'll share my timeline once I receive my green card. I wish the best of luck to those still waiting for IL or waiver.

Hello Simon,

Please clarify just one question:

If the USCIS returned your AOS file, but before that they opened the entire package until the medical checks, and upon return marked each page with a coded number and, upon return, attached a letter saying to return it when the time is right, attached it too a yellow document, and in the yellow document saying that when resubmitting the process to the USCIS, place this document at the beginning of the entire process. Do I need to do new medical tests and send them in a sealed envelope or should the same documents that put the codes on the pages be sent?

Thank you so much

No need for a new medical report. Send back everything as is.

p.s. I’m not Simon.

Do you mean to say your congressman’s office is yet to respond to your request for case assistance, or that they’re yet to obtain any update from your FO? I’m asking this question because there’s nothing a senator can do that a congressman cannot do in terms of case inquiry assistance. Nonetheless, you may contact your Senator now if you like, or follow up with your congressman’s office to see if they’re able to obtain some new update, or remain patient considering you’re already aware LA FO’s slow processing times.
Congressman’s office is yet to obtain any update from my FO. They did’t respond to my follow up email after 30 days (sent it 2 days ago) so I assume USCIS haven’t reply to their inquiry. Will remain patient I guess. @Sm1smom thank you for your reply!

Hello Mom
Any idea how long background check takes? Field office says my background check is still being run even though I gave my biometrics almost six weeks ago? Is this because I never filed DS-260? I'm guessing the name check is taking longer than usual.

Hello everyone. Is here someone from Las Vegas ? How long usually a process take at Vegas ? I checked a past years , but there Covid times, so not so accurate .
We passed our fingerprints at April 14, mine status already changed to “fingerprints were taken” my husbands status is still pending. He is a main applicant. I saw its a lot of people from cn March got their green cards, or interview notices.

Background check clearance is individual specific - could be a couple of hours for some, while for others it could take several weeks or months to clear the background check. Take a look at the FAQ tab and the Background Check tab of the AOS Process Spreadsheet for more on this.

You should start by adding your own data to the Timeline spreadsheet considering you're actually utilizing it as a yardstick for how the applications of other selectees are progressing. You're asking if there's someone else from your FO without adding your own information, maybe that someone else is equally waiting for you to add yours, right?

Hey @DIESEL1337
How did you contact with USCIS Field Office ? Is your status updated to Fingers were taken or not?

Hi all.
My DV case number is 2023AS00018XXX and was current in March 2023. I filed my I-485 on 02 March 2023.
I got my 1st NOA on 24th March and Biometrics letter on 31st March.
I had my biometrics appointment on 14th April.
My field office is NBC; gave my biometrics in Brooklyn, New York.
Any idea how long it takes to receive the interview letter?
Do you know if there is a delay?

P.S: trying to put my details in the 2023 timeline spreadsheet but waiting for access.

Appreciate your response.

Thank you!

Access granted to the Timeline Spreadsheet. And hmm no, your FO cannot be the NBC, that is not correct.

Hello mom

I want to make FTJ fill out I-824 for my family there are 3 people that are outside the US, I would like to know if I have to fill out each one with their I-824 or all the information for the 3 goes on one form?

Another question what documents should I attach when submitting I-824 to USCIS?

I didn't send my DS260 along with the complete package, can I send my DS260 in my online account to USCIS? Is there no harm?

Hi Sm1smom

How to get connect with USCIS 2 tire officer ? Do you have any idea ?
You call the tier 1 agent and ask to talk to a tier 2 agent. They will decide based on inquiry to submit a tier 2 callback request.

After I emailed the congressman, the congressman's staff called me. They are going to initiate an inquiry on my behalf with USCIS. As soon as they receive a response to the inquiry, they will be back in touch with me. Also they emphased that we must allow all federal agencies a minimum 45 days to issue an interim to final response to our inquiry before we may request addinional status. Since then, there is no update :(

On the other hand,
I called USCIS a week ago
1-) I asked if my background check has been completed or cleared (she said yes)
2-) I asked if my case was assigned to an officer (she said that, it was assigned today)

------

@Sm1smom I know I have to be patient but I'm being stressed and worried. At this point, should I call USCIS again and what to say, I would appreciate any suggestion

I’ve called USCIS again today to confirm the above answers. Unlike my first phone call, they answered no to all of the above questions. They just said my case was pending. I asked if they could connect me a tier2, and they said no (I think the first phone call was with tier1 too, I’m not sure)

Next week I’ll contact the congressman's office to see if they’ve gotten any answer to my inquiry and I’ll let you know if there is any update. Good luck to all of us and fingers crossed

Hi
wow! Congratulations, and thanks for the update. I am hoping for something positive in the coming days. I did my bio 61 days ago.
Hi Mom,

I just received this notice in my mail. What's said in the letter isn't true. I am scheduled to graduate on May 12, 2023. I sent them all my I20's and I94 as at the time I sent the documents in January.

So in response to this, I believe I am supposed to resend the I-20's (I have 3 of those, 2 CPTs and one for OPT requested). Do I send all to them or just those issued before January 26, 2023? I will add a copy of this REF notice and the I-94. Is there anything else to be added to these list?
Lastly, my uscis account nor the case status site doesn't show any update("It still says, finger print received"), how do I know when my response is received?
Thanks.

Hi there, a few quick questions regarding the first step i.e paying the DV fee of $330.

1. Should I make the money order out as $660 for 2 people, or do I need x2 money orders (both for $330 each?)??
2. The DV fee requires address information and SASE, will I have the receipt mailed back out to me? I'm just wondering if I should use my permanent or temporary address, it comes while I am away from home. What do you recommend?
3. How long does it usually take for them to send the receipt back?
