DV 2023 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Only

Hi, Is there anyway to get status on my biometric letter?
There's no official means of knowing. One way though would be by looking at the Timeline Spreadsheet to see how long it took other applicants from your ASC to receive the bio notice. In addition, you may be able to obtain information chatting with Emma or calling the USCIS customer service line - they're sometimes able to see if the bio has been scheduled. Lastly, sign up for the USPS Informed Delivery - this also lets you know in advance when/if a USCIS correspondence is on its way to you.

Hello @Sm1smom and congratulations for those who received their green cards
I would like to ask some questions:
1)I want to know if any case you know in the previous years who the main applicant is CP whereas his derivatives are going to AOS
2) I applied for OPT as my I-20 is going to expire on May 5, then I knew that my husband's number is current, but I can not be interviewed with him as I don’t have a visa in the country that he is going to get his CP. his interview is on June 6 ,so is it ok to file AOS package in June depending on the fact that his number is current “AF24XXX Egypt?
3) Or do you recommend filing the AOS package with my number which is Asia 24XXX.However, I don’t know when it is going to be current?
4)Do you think it is a good idea to travel to get CP in a different country than his although it is difficult now as we are near the end of fiscal year. In addition, I am waiting for the OPT approval which I did not receive.
5) Do you recommend paying the AOS package fees now and on which number ? Mine or his as I am so confused and I need your guidance and I am afraid that we would lose our chance this year.

1. I know of folks who have asked of such, I don’t know of any who actually followed through (because the process is a bit complicated).
2. No, you cannot file for AOS in June as your husband’s derivative. He must successfully complete the process first, get issued with his visa and enter the US as a LPR before you can initiate your AOS process as his derivative.
3. That’s your call (seems your only option now though IMO based on what you’ve shared).
4. I don’t have an opinion on that.
5. When you make the payment is your call. See response 2 and 3 above.

Dear @Mira22 @mbsambo and @wadzanai . You guys are my fellow DV winners whose Field Offices are also in St. Louis. I wanted to deliver the good news that our Field Office offers Interview Waivers afterall. I had my packet delivered to the Lockbox on March 15th, Bio was scheduled for April 17th, then today, my USCIS account is showing the update: "New Card Is Being Produced". So I believe they have decided to approve my case without an interview. I wish all three of you to be met with similar fortune.

Dear @Sm1smom , I appreciate all that you do for us clueless lucky individuals. The steps you have outlined on the spreadsheet, and the constant feedback and assistance you provide for everyone here has made this whole process a breeze! God bless you!
This is great! Congratulations! It's good to see someone in St Louis actually finishing the process. l was getting worried. Fingers crossed we experience the same luck you had!

thanks sm1mom,
If you are able to provide the passport number and the date and port of entry without the physical documents (passport , i-94 form) will that suffice to demonstrate one entered after inspection?

I don’t know if that will be enough. There’s a reason they request the documents as proof of what is being claimed.

Hi All,

I am confused about early filing. Lets suppose my case is now current for June. If I send my AOS package before June, does it count as early filing? Or if I send it before my case is current?

Take a look at the FAQ section of the AOS Process Spreadsheet.

Thank you so much for the update and congratulations!!!!

Hi Mom, if the asc office ask the reason for walkin, what should we provdie? Also, do they provide any document post completion of the biometric?
When we did walk in, we just simply said that we'd like to do a bio earlier as at that day we had all day off (work and my daughter at school ). Simply as that, the security guard immediately said that's fine, no problem at all.

After Bio(fingerprints/photos/signature), the Notice of Action 797c has been stamped "Biometrics processing stamp ASC Side code XXXX... signature and date)

The following day status online has been changed as well " Case was updated to show fingerprints were taken."

Good News! Just like @DV2023 said my interview was waived as well. This morning I got the notification that the new card is being produced. My life has been on pause for the last months and now finally I get to travel and see my family. Thank you for all the help. The worksheets and the timelines are amazing. The process went smoothly. just be patient everyone.

I am updating my timeline! Thanks again and good luck to all :))

Congrats!!!!

I also noticed that our case is scheduled for an interview today (Denver Field Office)! The whole process took 35 days! Our biometrics were waived since we had already done this 6 years ago. We are currently out of status (pending Asylum), so we have very little hope of getting our case approved.
