DV 2023 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Only

Hello everyone.
I have two questions regarding assembling the AOS package.

1. In the Spread Sheet it says: "Copy(ies) of the current and past I-20 (If applicable)"
I am an international student. My university has been always the same, and I have always been in the same program, but because of going to internships and Covid, they have updated my i-20 several times. Do I still need to send all copies of my i-20 or the most recent one?

2. I was overpaid for the last week of my internship in 2022, I sent back the money, but they couldn't send me the corrected W-2 form on time. Thus, I filed a tax extension request which was approved. Is this going to threaten my application? Also, when I am sending my Tax returns, what should I say regarding my 2022 tax return being missing?

Thanks in advance for your time.

1. The spreadsheet says copies of current and past I-20s. Your call on what you wish to send. Remember though, you're trying to demonstrate you've consistently maintained a valid status.
2. It shouldn't impact the AOS application.

Hi @nur1234,

Were you able to get an update from USCIS?

I don't understand why such a delay in San Antonio Field Office.

Thank you.
@DILUAE
After I emailed the congressman, the congressman's staff called me. They are going to initiate an inquiry on my behalf with USCIS. As soon as they receive a response to the inquiry, they will be back in touch with me. Also they emphased that we must allow all federal agencies a minimum 45 days to issue an interim to final response to our inquiry before we may request addinional status. Since then, there is no update :(

On the other hand,
I called USCIS a week ago
1-) I asked if my background check has been completed or cleared (she said yes)
2-) I asked if my case was assigned to an officer (she said that, it was assigned today)

------

@Sm1smom I know I have to be patient but I'm being stressed and worried. At this point, should I call USCIS again and what to say, I would appreciate any suggestion

how was your interview @Okie_ ?
Thanks for asking. It went well, officer was very nice. Asked us our latest address and checked our legal status in the USA. Then she moved over to the yes - no questions. Overall, it took around 20 minutes. Then she approved and stamped our application file and told us that the card will come around two weeks. However, we don't have any new case updates online. Probably, they don't update quite often. @Sm1smom thank you so much for your help throughout the process. We will update you here if we have any new information

As I checked the status of my money orders, unfortunately they did not cashed them and in email every time they mention that the payment has not been received. Please allow 2 to 3 weeks for payment processing.
I asked them many times to cash money orders but only get templet answer.
Kindly please let me know if I have any other option to do.

Best Regards
I did not check your previous replies but we had a similar issue. By mistake we sent our check with regular mail and did not receive any update for weeks (6 weeks). We kept checking our bank account but the check was not deposited. Then we sent another mail but this time we used priority mail. In two days they cashed out the check. Just in case we canceled the old check after the new one was deposited.
Just so you know, KCC kept sending the same emails which cause more confusion all the time

At this point, you should probably take up Yoga or something to help you relax, as against stressing over something you have no control of. Everything is under the control of your FO who so ever is yet to schedule or approve any DV based application we know of in this forum. You know you have to be patient, so continue doing that for now. Or hire a lawyer at this point if you like.

Hi All,
It has been almost 4 months since our I-485 package delivery to Lockbox. Yet, we got no update from USCIS regarding our case except for the biometrics appointment on February 1st. We are thinking to send a letter to the Nashville field office as few members in this forum got positive feedback to the letter. Could anyone please let us know how to find the address of the field office to courier a letter? When I search Nashville FO it only gives the location address as "340 Plus Park Boulevard Nashville, TN 37217"
is this the one we should use for this purpose? If not how can I find the correct address to deliver the letter to Nashville FO? Thank you.

That is the right address for Nashville FO. I heard that Nashville has a big backlog and is working a bit slowly. It looks like we have very similar timelines. I have been waiting for the IL for 2 months now (and applied for AOS in Nashville).

Update for all who are in FO NY Queens :

Talked yesterday over the phone with USCIS Rep: no info/upadtes on my case
Talked with live agent Emma Chat : no info/upadtes on my case

and suddenly today received G-57 Call Notice by mail with an Interview appointment scheduled on 06/14 ( letter dated 04/25) - one letter for the whole family.
It took 23 days after Bio to get it ( 52 days after filing AOS Package )

Wish us luck:)

Hi Mom,

USCIS live agent mentioned today that my case was at NBC. The SF office is only temporarily assisting with processing the case. Last month they told me the case was at the field office. Does the NBC give the final approval on the green card? Aren't they mailed out from NBC?

Thanks,
DIESEL

Hi mom,

I completed the last version of i-485 form, however upon printing the pages, instead of barcode at the bottom of page, numbers appear. Is it ok?WhatsApp Image 2023-04-27 at 13.33.28 (1).jpeg

Does the copy of the cashed MO show what the payment was for? DV cases are not the only ones requiring payment to the DOS. Anyway, if you included a SASE with your payment, the receipt will eventually show up.

And no, I do not recommend making a new payment. Doing so will not necessarily speed up your case. KCC will contact you if the payment has not yet been received since they cannot forward your KCC case file upon request by the IO to your FO. So since KCC has not contacted you, the payment is not the reason for any perceived delay.
Hello, that’s what they sent to provide them an evidence, I’m really confused and disappointed because kcc department, in this situation what i have to do , do i have to pay again to department of state ?

You can do that now considering you also filed since January.
@Sm1smom , Is there any guidance on how to proceed with the congressional case assistance service?

Today I communicated with a USCIS call center agent, and I was told,
1- She is unable to see any information on whether the background check has been completed or the case has been assigned to a FO
2- She also said that she could not see any information on the interview that has been scheduled.

Filed AOS on 01/31/2023
Biometrics on 11/04/2023

Thank you.

You can ignore what they told you, it is not correct. The FO is responsible for approving the case, not the NBC.

Thanks for providing an update regarding the received RFE. It seems like KCC is slacking more and more with sending out the payment receipt in a timely manner.

At this point, you can either keep sending a fresh email to KCC (like 2 to 3 depending on rate of response) a day, requesting a copy of the payment receipt be emailed to you because you have not received the mailed version and you need to respond to a RFE from USCIS, or send in another payment and hope they send you the receipt for the new payment promptly. I cannot tell you which option is the best to pursue, you'll have to make the choice you're most comfortable with.

Thank you, if they didn’t send the receipt by April/24/2023 USCIS will deny my case ?
If they deny my case can I apply again to i-485 based dv 2023 or im gonna loose my chance?

Thank you.
Each congress person's website contains instructions on how to request case assistance, check you congress person's website. In addition, take a look at what @Blade_ wrote to their congress person when seeking case assistance back in 2021 - I think this is a good example to go by.

Thank you for your reply neuro930. We also initiated a congressional inquiry 3 weeks ago. Congressional office personnel emailed us saying they will forward our inquiry to USCIS. Did not hear anything yet from them. If you get any updates for your case please keep updating me. I will do the same. Thank you and good luck.
