DV 2022 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Only

Hi everyone. I have been following the CP route for my DV case. My CN is current in May (AF 61K).I filled out my DS260 last May with the intention of completing my case through my consulate; however, due to the delays in processing I'm thinking about going through the AOS route. Is it possible for me to switch to AOS or is it too late at this point? Thank you.

Are you currently based in the US in a legal status? If yes, it is not too late to switch over to AOS assuming KCC has not yet forwarded your case file to the embassy selected for your CP option.

Hi there.

Quick question (on the right page hopefully).

I completed my Biometrics interview exactly 3 months ago (29th Dec 2021. Currently on an E3 going for DV AOS) but haven't received a letter for on an interview yet. Is this a normal length of time to wait?

thanks!

"Normal" depends on the FO (Field Office) with jurisdiction over your case. Take a look at the DV2022 AOS Timeline spreadsheet (link in my signature) to see if there's any other case from your FO currently listed there to get an idea of what they are currently going or already gone through. That timeline spreadsheet will also provide you with insight on what is happening with the other FOs currently listed. And I recommend you also add your case update to the spreadsheet by the way.

If your FO is not currently listed on the 2022 timeline spreadsheet, then you might also want to take a look at some of the years past timeline spreadsheets by the way. You will find the links to those on the AOS Process Spreadsheet (link to this spreadsheet is also available in my signature)

Yes, I'm currently on an H1B visa. According to my latest inquiry with KCC, I'm "ready for scheduling". I don't know if this means my case file has been forwarded to my embassy?

I don't know either. I have no idea if your embassy is currently scheduling interviews, and if they are - how well that is going. I do not monitor the save diversity visa site or @Xarthisius's CEAC files - so yeah, I don't know.
Anyway, if you wish to proceed with switching over to AOS, you'll need to contact KCC right away to inform them of your plan to make the switch from CP to AOS.

Hello Sm1smom, first of all thank you very much for your work !
CN: 2022EU27k+ (unfortunately not current)
I filled my DS-260 when I was outside US, date of fill - 16 September 2021

Two weeks ago I moved to US with dual-intent visa, and would like to go with AOS instead of CP
Yesterday (28 march) I email KCC that I would like to go with AOS, I got reply with basic info (to check eligibility, pay DV fee and wait until my CN will be current)

1. What is 2NL ? I have confirmation of my submitted DS-260 (at that moment I wasn't intended to do AOS)

2. Where I can make DV payment (I understand it's risky as I have high CN), is this in any Bank/Online ?
ps: I'm new to US, and unfortunately not everything is clear to me

1. 2nd Notification Letter = Letter (which may be with or without) attachment from KCC - the email from KCC confirming their awareness of your AOS processing preference.
2. The DV Administrative fee payment is a money order or cashier's check which needs to be mailed to a specific address.

You need to start by carefully going over the AOS Process Spreadsheet to ensure you have an understanding of the steps involved with processing a DV based AOS application. The spreadsheet has several tabs, I encourage you to go over each one carefully as most of the initial questions you're likely to have (including the two you asked by the way) have already been answered on it.

Hello

I submitted my packet in early January for NYC current in February. I had my biometrics scheduled for March 3rd but walked in on Feb 17th and got it done. I haven't received any communication scheduling an interview. I also realized while I added to my AOS packet the actual notification letter KCC mailed me which is also the receipt, I did not print and attach the email they sent me which I have come to learn on this forum is called a 2NL. Does this increase my chance of receiving an RFE? If so, could I preempt it by sending it in today? Whats the procedure for sending in this additional information? How will I know it was received?

Don't worry about what you added or didn't add as the 2NL, that is not a big deal.

I'm however confused about this statement in your post: "I also realized while I added to my AOS packet the actual notification letter KCC mailed me which is also the receipt". Which "receipt" are you referring to as the notification letter KCC emailed to you? Are you referring to the DV Administrative fee payment receipt emailed back to you by KCC or something else?

I am referring to the receipt from DOS for the diversity visa lottery processing fee that was mailed to me via usps.

hi all

Hello! Thank you for all the useful information that you are providing here and on the spreadsheet!

I have a quick question concerning the "Copy of the receipt from DOS for the diversity visa lottery processing fee". I've got an email from KCC with the stamp on the form where I indicated my name, case number, etc. Is this the correct document I should send along with i-485, or do I need to get exactly the stamped check that they cashed?

Yes it is the document that you should add your AOS package.

Did you include any other application form apart from the I-485 form in your AOS package?

Hello,

I sent my AOS package today. I just wanted to share the pic of the files in case it might be an example who are planning to prepare their packages too. I didn't write a cover letter. I tried to add all the documents that they would want to see. I hope we will have a chance to be waived the interview.

I also want to thank @Sm1smom again for replying every question I had in my mind. I will update my information in DV 2022 AOS Timelines with every step I get too. Thank you all!
