DV 2022 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Only

For those that went to an interview without having biometrics taken before, was anyone taken biometrics the same day in the same location of the interview?

You can take a look at the spreadsheet and see who has the same date for both interview and biometric. I remember one applicant having done them both on the same day in Milwaukee FO last year.

Thanks for confirming your chargeability. It is indeed not the reason for your pending approval. It possibly could be travel history related in addition to your field of work being TAL related. Just hang in there, I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Our case status finally changed to "New Card Is Being Produced" this morning! Thank you guys for helping me on this.

I contacted congressman last week and they sent an inquiry to FO to ask for case status, which seems helpful. I also mailed a letter to FO, however the case status got updated before the letter arrived this morning.

Congrats! Enjoy your new life! and don't forget to update the timeline spreadsheet.

My case status also finally changed to "New Card Is Being Produced" this morning! Big thanks to Mom, Susie and everyone else for helping me on this. Super grateful for this forum :) Will update the spreadsheet accordingly.
Another great update. Congrats.

Congratulations @cbs5hiuc. Can you please answer my one question, how did you find attorney who has access to USCIS FO or have appointment there? I was following your steps and just found out that not all attorneys have that access.

I also decided to call USCIS one more time today, following @Sm1smom suggestion on someones post saying "try USCIS until you find nicer agents." And I actually had a nicer agent today, she was very polite and was willing to actually explain everything unlike all the other agents I had. She also told me my case is at Dallas FO since Sept 2 and also filed a form for expedite request and said I'd be getting decision on expedite request by 9/27. Is expedite request dependable? The timing seems very tightDon

@Adel10 have you received any updates?
Yes . My case was approved and interview was waived. Was super happy .I will update my case on the timeline once i finish some stuff.
However, My family Follow To Join is gonna be a sunset as there is not much time left and USCIS Tier 1 and 2 was of NO help.

CASE DENIED
Just got an email notification/reply for the e-request, it says they have denied my case and sent a denial notice.

Oh no! I’m sorry to learn of this update. If you could keep us updated as to the reason for the denial after receiving the denial notice, it would be greatly appreciated as we could learn from it.

Congratulations!!! Pass on the good luck vibes. I’m still waiting. As long as you got your GC you will sponsor your family. Did you make any calls to USCIS since the last update where they transferred your case?

Hi! Sorry for the delay. Good question - I asked the same to someone in the beginning. I am part of an Australian community page on Facebook and they had a lot of immigration attorney recommendations for NY on there so I moved them all into a spreadsheet and just started calling down the list and explaining the situation and asking them if they had a direct connection to USCIS. Some couldn't tell me without a consult, but when you call 20 the odds of finding one person who is willing to help is pretty good.

I also received this answer from the person who told me about this approach:

I googled immigration lawyers in Albany. There were just several lawyers. Called them to ask if they have the direct email or direct phone number of FO. First contact, maybe 5-10 minutes consultation is free.
But after that, you have to pay fees by hour.

Experienced lawyers have had numerous interviews at FO. So, I selected the veteran lawyer. If you find the lawyer from same country as you, it maybe plus.

I didn’t care about DV lottery experience of the lawyer, because I already filed all.
All I needed is the direct contact method to FO. At this point, National USCIS call center is meaningless.

I don’t know the lawyer asks for expedite or not, but he/she can get more information.
If the delay is background reason, you have to wait. If the lawyer has really good relationship with FO, they may prioritize the interview.

When I was speaking to an immigration attorney they told me about a very interesting case they had last year when someone found out they won the lottery a WEEK before the Sept 30th cut off date. They were able to run the application down to the USCIS Field Office and beg the supervisor to review the application, take biometrics AND conduct the interview in the same day. Again, probably a super unique case and would require an attorney but they were successful.

Hi all!
Question for you . I was a 2022 lottery winner, i filed for i-485 in November 2021 and did finger printing in January 2022, but i have not had any updates up until now. will i lose the entire green card if i don't hear anything by the end of September 2022? or in other words in 10 days... ?

@Sm1smom First, God bless you. I will forever be grateful for the work you do. My status changed to "card is being produced" after I did a walk-in today at USCIS by myself as you had once advised me to try. Yesterday, I pleaded my case with my attorney's paralegal and I was told we have done everything we can for your case and there's nothing else they can do. I woke up, prayed, wrote a letter, and drove an hour to FO to either deliver the letter myself or to talk to the officer. At first, they told me they cannot help without an appointment but I was able to plead my case till one of the guards decided to talk to the officers. The manager pulled my case and they looked at it. We cleared all the confusion in my case and my derivative FTJ situation. After 2 hours the officer told me your case has been approved and drive safely. No interview was needed all they asked was where my child is and how he plans to process his case. Keep helping everyone you can. You are changing lives every day. This is your victory too.
