DV-2014 How it differs from previous years ? Plus few questions !

At the same time numbers higher than 31000 EU will not get to the interview at all. In previous years those numbers were hidden, they did not appear. Of course, they also did not make it to the interview - in that semse nothing has changed.

The schedule for interviews for Europe for May 2012 was 40,000 and current the following month. I get you point, but I disagree with your statement then CNs higher than 31,000 will not get an interview. Anyhow, we don't know anything yet about their schedule for DV-2014, but it would be interesting to go back to your predictions next year at this time :)

Thanks, Z

and what does AOS and CP mean?

PS : I have never got visa to any other country before.(inclusing U.S.)
CP - consular processing, getting an immigrant visa at a consulate abroad
AOS - adjustment of status, getting GC in the US if you are in the US in a nonimmigrant status

However, there were no open numbers above 32000. They were all hidden (except one single number or so, 45xxx, that had an interview in Ankara in September 2012), and DOS decided not to open them even though VB suggested to open numbers up to 40000.

Yes, very interesting.

They wanted to have numbers up to 40000 because of underfilling for DV-2012. They decided not to release second batch however (I guess because of the lawsuit), and finally had 30% quota underfilled

Franko - I'm in the same boat as you I think....

Franko, I read your post with interest. I am also a software engineer living in London. I applied for an H1 visa this year (and got selected in THAT lottery) so I'll probably be in the States on the H1 before the interview comes up (if at all).

My number is 2014EU000314XX. From what I have read, that sounds borderline to me. It also means a very long wait for an interview - probably Jul/August of next year at the earliest?

Fingers crossed...

It looks like my previous reply to this message disappeared. I guess it was removed by moderator, who wants to cover up the possible occuring fraud. If my post disappears again, thet would mean exactly it.
Mohamed, how did you find out about a possibility to send forms to kcc by email?
What email did you use to send the forms to?

Nope - your reply is still there - #40

they want me to show a person who is already resident of USA? I dont have a family member or somebody else in the US. What must i do?

Or what do you generally do?

Raevsky, If they have selected more entries (+20%), will that mean there are 20% more holes in the CN numbering?

You could include address of your prospective amployer or even a hotel address where you are going to stay. And you could correct it upon entry.

Raevsky, If they have selected more entries (+20%), will that mean there are 20% more holes in the CN numbering?

I would say no. I would say less holes. My statistics shows that among first 27000 numbers for EU there are 20% more entries in DV-2014 than in DV-2013. That means there are less holes - right on the amount of additional 20% entries

If there are less holes within the first 27,000 entries, would that mean there are less bogus entries detected after random selection?

How did you get your data in 2014? I could not get anything out by putting mine number in the status checking system.

DSP-122 and DS-230. DS-230 should have photos included. How many - depends on the consulate
Hello raevsky. Thanks for the help.

What does photos included mean? I will anyways send dsp-122 and ds-230 in the same envelope right?
Do we attach the photos?
What do we do? Post all forms and photos in the same envelope?

And secondly you said that its depends on the consulate.
why does it matter? Because we people all are going to send it to Kentucky.
it writes 2 photos at the internet site.

Since you do not have a US visa now, you will be doing Consular Processing. You need to send DSP-122 and DS230 parts I and II and two photos to KCC. Please find the embassy/consulate that does the DV interviews in your country; they usually have a pretty good explanation of what you need to do in what order, and also other pertinent information such as how the photos should look like, what kind of extra documents you need to bring to interview, etc. Finding local forums with people who are going through the same process in your embassy is a big help too.

Thanks aos13. It helped me a lot. I am planning to phone to the US embassy tomorrow.

I have one last question. I dont have an address for question number 10 on form DS230. I am planning to write an address to question 11 but N/A to number 10. Because i am not intending to live at that address honestly and i dont want to write wrong information to the form.

I searched for at google but couldnt find any good answers.
