Refer my signature, mine is EB3.

In the approval email it said 4/1/06 (Saturday). I thought it was a "April fools prank" . I called National Customer Service Center (800) 375-5283, after 25 minutes of wait time, the lady answered the call and she confirmed that the case has been approved.

Cheers!!!

PERM_FAQ,
Do you see, things have started moving, so there is lot of HOPE!!!

gc_line,

Yes, there is a lot of hope. After all we all are living on HOPE..Correct!
But, if you keep on waiting for months together and you don't see any thing
moving... then it is human attitude/tendency that their hope starts
diminishing. I have been running the scanner on various dates to invistigate
myself that is there any thing running in the background that we guys don't
see on these public boards. I haven't noticed any thing like that. Anyways..
lets see if we get any more approvals today or tomorrow, as our beloved
friend's "your_friend' case got approved in the last week (strange TSC works
on Weekend, good for us... though) on April 1st. Lets watch keeping fingers
crossed~

Interestingly, mine RD/ND are way before of your_friend. Not sure what the
order of processing that TSC had adopted. Is it like, what the order they
got is the order they follow....? Anyways...for the time being...its a kind of
relief that SOME THING is moving.....

No annual quota restriction for Advance Degree:

Hi All

All we have to go to next stage for approval of I-485. As all we know, now approval of I-485 subjected to availability of Visa dates. (Visa dates will be available on Monthly Visa Bulletin http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bulletin/bulletin_1360.html). So good news for all Master degree holders, there is a proposal on immigration bill to exempt the numerical limitation. If so, no need to worry about Visa dates published under EB2 Advance Degree. (There will be no cut-off dates, will be current always)

Still this bill need to be passed.

Here is the details:

Section 508 of the Specter bill:
SEC. 508. VISAS FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH ADVANCED DEGREES.
(a) Aliens With Certain Advanced Degrees Not Subject to Numerical Limitations on Employment Based Immigrants.--
(1) IN GENERAL.--Section 201(b)(1) (8 U.S.C. 1151(b)(1)), as amended by section 505, is amended by adding at the end the following:
``(G) Aliens who have earned an advanced degree in science, technology, engineering, or math and have been working in a related field in the United States under a nonimmigrant visa during the 3-year period preceding their application for an immigrant visa under section 203(b).
``(H) Aliens described in subparagraph (A) or (B) of section 203(b)(1)(A) or who have received a national interest waiver under section 203(b)(2)(B).
``(I) The spouse and minor children of an alien who is admitted as an employment-based immigrant under section 203(b).''.
(2) APPLICABILITY.--The amendment made by paragraph (1) shall apply to any visa application--
(A) pending on the date of the enactment of this Act; or
(B) filed on or after such date of enactment.
Section 201(b)(1) of the current immigration statute lists the aliens who are exempt from the numerical limit. Section 508 of the Specer bill proposes to add the foregoing aliens to the list.

your_friend: congrats! thats great news for you and others also.

perm_faq: the out of order processing might be because the cases might be distributed among various depts at TSC. for example, my case was sent to Dept A, Mesquite TX. there might be a dept B, C, D..... possibly upto Z!! (wishful thinking)

I guess, you might have noticed that, we just got one approval in the last
week (your_friend). I was expecting there could be atleast few more by this
week. But, I have not noticed any (on any forum) since your_friend's approval.

BTW, Are there any 140s still pending with CSC?

to me, that looks like an april 1st prank... :D

Guys, I am running the scanner to see how many 140 cases are approved on
009th day. In the mean time, I will get the latest 009th day data by later today
(as it is still running).

No April fools prank...

your_friend's mail & situation sounds legit, and keep in mind that his RD is 10/13 which is way ahead of most of us.

But, perm_faq, what is a "scanner" and how does that get the info? What is "009" day?

 But mine is 07/30. I still receive no result, what should I do? I contact customer service many times and wrote to USCIS, it's really nonsense. what should I do???

I have created database of 258,259,250,001,002,003,004,005,006 & 009.
Dam thing is, the script doesnot spit out the report masking lower 4 bits. And
I don't have "vim" running in windows m/c. I have to take it to linux
for post-processing. Also, the script has one more limitation. Once the list of
proxies are exhausted or some other reason, it stops running. I have to
keep an eye on it. It would be better if the script can detect it and re-run by
itself.

Otherwise, I have to add some other utility script wrapping this scanner, to
run it intelligently that way... we can forget it, until it spits COMPLETE
database. Anyways... I will publish the reports by tomorrow once Iam done
with it tonight.

Damn it, its been 7 months and still there is no sign of movement.

ok. well if its helpful for you, i can run -refresh flag daily for 003 and couple of other days and post results of the scan daily.

the proxy bit is for sure a PITA.

aside: vim on windows is very nice. if you want you can get it from here - ftp://ftp.vim.org/pub/vim/pc

Scanner is a script to poll the case status in batch mode. It was developed
by Mr talkative. Actually, it is not straight forward. You have to run it couple
of times to know what it is. It takes atleast 1/2 day. Let me know if you want
to run it. I can give you dump. Otherwise, Iam posting info tomorrow.

By the way, if you the case receipt number = WAC06AAA5BBBB,
Here AAA = 009 (working day). 06 = last 2 digits of year 2006,
BBBB = case specific number.

Last year, 2005 has 260 USCIS working days. And so the numbering in AAA.
On a particular day, USCIS can receive Maximum of 10,000 different types
of cases (129,130,131,140,...485,530,765 etc etc). But I have noticed
USCIS receives at the most 3000 to 5000 cases per day.

I have also noticed, the majority of applications that USCIS receives are
of type = 130, 129. Those are the most.
