Probably that's the case (transfer to expedite processing). My application was received at Buffalo on the 25/April/02. I have not received any letter advising me of any action as of yet. If they can process such that medicals need not be done 6 months from now, then that would be really good news.

I am a borderline case as well.

Guys,
- I have applied at the end of Feb 2002 and havn't heard anything. I was sent a letter in July 2002 giving me my file no.
- I cannot check my file status just like Rama earlier-how do I check it?
- Has anyone who applied in March 2002 heard from Buffallo?
I could sure use some help here.

I was unable to see my status before but now a days it shows "In process"... but not heard anything so far.

recently I have also change my address and sent them a fax.. so I am very tense about any papers they have send me to my old address.

Hey Rama

I have sent them the new forms last week even though they hadn't asked me to-cos I know they have been asking most people to send the new forms in as it contains a lot more info than the earlier one.
The trouble is, I got an HRDC clearance for my job and it runs out in October-end. So I need to get the PR thru before that. But not being able to see at least the status of my file is frustrating.

try putting just the ones which are required and do not enter your given name(this is optional)...

Can someone tell, which # to call to know about status of application applied in Buffalo and talk with the live person to answer the questions.

I have send my change of address via fax sometime back and it has nothing changed yet online. anyone has same experiences ??

Hi Rama,

Same situ as you with regards to address not being changed. Have you notified the post office of your forwarding address.?If so, don't worry you will still receive mail.

My medical forms etc were mailed out to the old add: but were forwarded to me without a problem.

Consulate has still not updated my new address (8 months later)...... Have sent many faxes!

my timelines are also same as yours.
applied dec'01 ---> received filenumber 2/02 --> received initial assessments,medical on 1/03 ---> completed medical on 2/03 ,submitted RPRF also in 2/03.
Haven't heard anything after that.
do they send receipts for RPRF?
seems like they don't send any confirmation regarding medical documents? and online status says...we are processing your file since jan'02.


When do you think we should get the landing papers...etc.
maybe you can send me your email..and we can talk when someone receives any updates.
Anybody else in same time-line, waiting for landing papers, after finishing medical?

Not sure when we will hear about the landing papers. Hopefully soon as we all have had to wait 6 long, agonizing months to do the medicals!

As far as I know the Consulate should send a receipt for the RPRF. Will let you know if I get one as I just mailed it out.

My online status reads the same as yours.

Will post any updates here.

No ROPF receipt ever

I have paid my ROF (or ROPR) in Jan 2003 and never received any receipt. I checked my bank and the money has been taken long back. Anyone ever received the receipt???

I too updated my address about 5 months back thru fax and they havn't updated it yet. I will be calling them shortly to make sure they have updated it on their system, even if the website shows the old address.

Hello,

I am putting together an application for Canadian immigration which would go through Buffalo.

Does anyone have any suggestion for me on if I should hire a lawyer to do this instead of doing it myself.

Is there anything in particular that I should emphasize on in the application?

How do I prove the English language proficiency. Would my transcript from my college in the US suffice?

How do I send them an official copy of the transcript? Do I just send the application to Buffalo, wait for the receipt number and then submit that receipt number and address to my college for them to send the official transcript?

As you can see, I am quite confused with this process and getting a little desperate. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. You guys are doing a great job with this list. Thanks.

Hi we applied in march. Just got a letter from them saying that they have transfered our case to LA to expedite the work. Did any one have same experience.:(
 
Annies also reported the same thing.Looks like they are transferring to Visa offices that are relatively free so that they can bring down the wait time in Buffalo to one year.
 
Are they transferring the files that required interviews or all files?Because i applied in january 02 and i received a letter stating that i have to wait for 6 months for medical and the interview has been waived .There is no mention of transferring my file .
