Does anybody have any idea why Buffalo is taking so long to issue AOR? I applied in October and still haven't heard from them.

you will get a letter but keep your eyes open if you don't. There are sites that you can track the interviews by case numbers on this forum but you would need to find it. Just search through... Good luck
 
Giving address to Toronto and going and applying SIN in Windsor

I am planning to go Windsor. Even it mention in CPR document also Windsor. If I gave address for PR to Toronto friend’s house and stay in Windsor and apply SIN there, is there any problem?

Anyone have experience?

There should be no major issue. They might ask you why you are applying in Windsor & given address in Toronto. An answer of, "I am staying for a few days in Windsor before permanently going to Toronto should satisfy them". Since its still same province, it should not cause major concern.

I think you should tell the truth since there si no harm. Just say what oyu think is the truth. I am sure, you will not have a permanant place and thus giving your friend address so just say it. Or maybe oyu think your friend address is safer so just say it that way.... In the end, is not a big deal using some else's address...

My friend applied in Sept got in AOR last week. So you have one more month to go. Keep your patience.

What does this mean.

I got my caips notes a long time ago, never downloaded or saw them as I got my IA before getting the notes. Out of curiousity saw them just now. Please can someone help me in understanding the following line:

Getting visa and landing possible buffalo/toranto

Hi All,

I got my passport request today. My medicals will be expiring on the 25th of february. So here is something that I am thinking of doing.

I am planning to fly to buffalo on a wednesday evening//

Get our passports stamped on the next day (thursday)//

do the landing on the thursday by driving through niagara/buffalo xing to toranto. stay overnight.

And comeback to buffalo on friday and fly away to SFO.

Is this doable? Has any one had similar experiences...

Is there anything that I need to watchout for? I will be travelling with my wife and 9yr old kid.

I will make up a goods to follow list and I will make up a check for the funds.

I am looking for ideas and things that i have to do/ can do while completing the landing process. I will write about it when i complete the process.


My medicals are expiring on feb 25, 2005. I just received the passport request.. HOw long will the canadian visa be valid if send them my passport now.

I heard that they give visa validity till the day medicals expire. I also heard that they give you 6 months visa validity from the date of they recieve passports to stamp? Can the gurus throw some light on this issue? please........... urgent.........

There is no sure shot answer to your question. In cases like yours where the applicant gets passport request when the medical is going to expire in a couple of weeks they may give the applicant a couple of months to land in Canada.

But like I said there is no sure shot answer so unless you get your visa no one can say for sure how much time you will get to land.

got the IA letter: Feb 7 2005

Doc asked: FBI finger print, Medical, letter from present employee, funds.

I stopped by Police office and they have fingerprint card and they do fingerprint. I will do it tomorrow and send to FBI.
For Medical I am thinking to go Cincinnati. I am in Indy and It is closer than Chicago. Any one went to Cincinnati for Medical?

GC for USA : Applied Sep 4 2002 (INDY DOL), sent to BEC on Jan 2005.

When can you expect to receive the

first letter from the Buffalo consulate after you mail your application. I mailed out mine in November 2004. So far I have not received any acknowledgment of receipt yet.

I meant bank statements os proof of funds. They asked to pay Right to Land fees too.
