Buffalo Tracker (please add)

anonymous12:, most your questions are already answere. I will answer the last two.

Q2. Does carrying your bank statement counts as carry funds?
Carrying bank statement is carrying a paper and no more. If this would be the case then getting hold of your bank statement will make me the owner of your money.. It is the same as carrying a marriage paper does not mean you are carrying your wife with you....and she is also alive... meanign what if the officer at POE decide to verify through your bank and you get there in the evenings and all the banks are closed now he would have to keep you till tomorrow to see if your wife (funds) are alive... :) I hope you understand what I mean....

Q3. If yes, then how does one declare those funds and where or which forms?

Where ever you are asked you need to declare it and where even necessary but do not go arround and start telling people ..... Good luck and for oyu carry a cashier check... and keep the number somewhere safe......

AND to answer your minimum requirement and if oyu are worried just carried under 10K since 10K is the limit.... if you have a wife get one cashier check for each under 10K and technically you will not have to declare anything......

More than 3 months No AOR yet!

Has anybody filed PR in Sep 04, received AOR? My application was received in first week of sep 04. No AOR yet.

Question

I have recently recieved a letter from the canadian consulate requesting that I take an English Language assessment test from a designated institution before they continue processing my application. I have already sent them a letter detailing my proficiency in English accompanied by a letter from one of my University profs here in the US and one from my immediate superviosors at work. I was under the impression that this will be more than sufficient along with my 4 years of working experience here in the US. The letter requests the test results to be sent back in less that 90 days from the date of the letter, otherwise they will stop processing the application. I have contacted the ielts center in Chicago and the earliest possible date is in Feb with 2 weeks after that for the test results to be mailed. I was expecting the IA , instead I got this letter. I have applied for the immigtration in feb 2003 and they returned the application saying it lacked proof of residency in the US when all the documents were already in there... I just rearranged them and put the requested documents on the surface and remailed them... I got My AOR in Apr 21 2003... I was just wondering if they havn't looked properly into the file like the previous time because again they are sayings the application is incomplete... I don't know what is the best course of action. I was thinking of faxing them a letter detailing my experience with supporting letters from school and work and explaining why the test resrults would be delayed... Any suggestions would be more than appreciated

Immigration officials are becoming more strict about the English language requirement. The immigration official has looked at your file and the evidence you have provided but s/he is not convinced so you have been asked to provide proof of your proficiency by appearing in IELTS.

The only option for you is to appear in IELTS as soon as possible. You can check other centers in US to get an earlier date. If it is not possible inform CIC that you can appear in IELTS in Feb 2005 and will provide the score as soon as you get them. Make sure you score more than 7 in all the sections. All the best.

Thanks guys for very quick replies. Another thing they asked to submit is Financial statements. Could you guys make some comments on this issue too?

Any way, I have more than what is minimum funds required for Canada immigration. I have heard on the forum that immigration officer will write the amount from your bank statement on the immigration papers which you have to prove/show at the time of landing.

Q1. Funds required for a single person are 9897 Canadian dollars? And lets say if my last bank statement shows 15000 USD then would immigration officer write 15000 USD or 9897 Canadian dollars (which is the minimum amount)? And does I have to carry with same amount at the time of landing to show proof of funds or just minimum funds (10000 CAN. $) required?

At the time of landing as I read on this forum most people take either bank check or bank statement or both and amount should be the same as immigration officer wrote on the papers.

US law is one has to declare funds over 10000 USD if traveling abroad and Canada it is 10000 CAN. $.

Q2. Does carrying your bank statement counts as carry funds?

Q3. If yes, then how does one declare those funds and where or which forms?

I don’t want to get in the trouble of declaring or funds carrying issue, does it matter if I simply withdraw funds from my bank to show only what is mimimum requirements (10000 CAN dollars) which will show in my last statement?

any suggestions please

Just found this on the CIC website http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/skilled/qual-4.html

" Disclosure of funds:

If you are carrying more than CDN $10,000, tell a Canadian official when you arrive in Canada. If you do not tell an official you may be fined or put in prison. These funds could be in the form of:

cash;
securities in bearer form (for example: stocks, bonds, debentures, treasury bills); or
negotiable instruments in bearer form (for example: bankers’ drafts, cheques, travellers’ cheques, money orders.)"

Hi Loton,

I got my fingerprinting done for FBI clearance from a guy in Jersey City. His address is :

797 Newark Avenue
Jersey City
NJ 07306

He charges $15 for the fingerprinting.
How did you find the Finger Printing service. I am looking for same in King of Prussia area near Philadelphia

Go to local Police station, and ask for Finger Print.

Or they will redirect you to the right place.

797 Newark Avenue - Not available now...this is a private person doing FP.

I found this service on the net. You can try Yahoo yellow pages to find private fingerprinting agencies in your area. Got the following result for the search on Yahoo for fingerprinting in King of Prussia, PA:

Delaware County Fingerprinting
(610) 891-4695
Media, PA

Fingerprinting
(215) 735-5437 1550 Callowhill St
Philadelphia, PA

Fingerprinting
(215) 735-5437 518 S 12th St
Philadelphia, PA

Please call up these places as I cant confirm if they will do FBI fingerprints.

You can also try the local police station but mine said that I will have to get the FBI fingerprint card and it takes the FBI over a month to mail them to you so I decided to get it done from a private agency.

I got my fingerprinting done from 797 Newark Avenue, Jersey City in Dec 2003 so I am not sure if they are still doing it.

Please check the website www.yogi799.com

According to this website currently people who got AOR(Received date - for you its 22nd June) in April / May are getting IA(Initial Assessment). So you should be hearing from them in a couple of months.

Canadian immigration

Thank you very much for your quick response.
We initially didn't submit the finger print but gave police clearance from India by getting it through Indian Embassy in DC.
The instruction given was saying finger printing is needed only when they ask after IA right?

Hi Gurus

Any of you guys know good doctors in New Jersey area for Madical examination for canadian immigration purpose? I want to go with Doctors who charge less and generate good report. Please post the details here. I appreciate your help. Thanks in advance.

Is it because you received a note from them to submit your medical?
If so could you please tell me when was your receipt date?
SHSB

I received this note from them 3 months back. But till now I did not do madicals. Does it cause any problems?

I don't know about that. But what was your receipt date of your application (intital application ?) I am trying to see when i may get a medical request. My file received date is 22nd June. I am still waiting on futher process
SHSB

I applied in Dec 2003. I do not want to push my process further more as I do have one more year on my H1B visa and have a nice job. So I did not do my medicals too. Do you think am I going to face any problems by delaying my process? Please advice me. Thanks in advance.

shsb vs Gc Pain: This is so nice, everyone here is after their own personal benefit and shsb is so straight forward about it. Hey guys try to help each other give some comfort to others as well not just ask what you need. You can also ask but put your info forward as well. SO HERE ARE THE ANSWRS TO YOUR QUESTIONS:
shsb check out www.yogi799.com
Gc Pain: Look at the letter they mailed you and you would find out. They normally allow 60 days for the medical form the date of the IA letter. :)
