Gurus , Pls Help -Got IA letter with interview in LA

Hi Gurus
here are my timelines.
Applied Nov 17th 2003
File No : Dec 18th 2003
IA : July 27th 2004(I got info on this day , so IA might have been done
few days earlier itself).

But the thing is , i was scehduled for LA interview.
CIC told that they inform once it is transeferred to LA.
I also got medicals, FBI clearance requests with my IA letter.
But my laywer suggested , that we can do them , once we get
interview date.

Gurus , can anybody share LA interview experiences and
how much time we have to wait for file transferred from
Buffalo to Los Angels.
After that how much time LA takes to send interview.
Can somebody help me.

Thanks Alot in advance.

Rolf?

I have a question and would appreciate a quick reply.

I got my IA sometime back and I am about to send all the documents they requested. However, is it necessary that I send the ROLF right now also? When is the latest that I can pay these fees?

Thanks,
SSJ

Hi SSJ,

Can you please let us know your timeline?

You can send the ROLF now but it is not required. If you dont send the ROLF now then immigration official will ask for it after your security check is done. And when you send the ROLF you will get passport request.

Guys I plan to enter canada early next year. However I will continue my job on EAD/AP in the US for the next couple of years.

Will I be double taxed?
Is there a record of entry departure from Canada to US?

Any information will be greatly appreaciated.

About the new born

Hi Forum,

I have already taken the interview in LA in Mar 2004. Everything went smoothly and they cleared my case. But, because my wife was pregnant during that time, we couldn't do the medical. Now that the baby is born, I have to send the documents to LA consulate for him to be included(I don't want to wait for three months for the passport). Would you please tell me what all docs need to be sent to the consulate to receive the medical form for the baby?
Also, I do have the medical form for me and my wife which was sent to us last year. Can I still use the same medical form for us?

I would really appreciate if you reply to this message.

Hi Jalma,
I have similar timeframe for CAN PR as yours.
My Application date: Oct., 2001;
AOR date: Nov., 2001;
Initial Assemnt: Nov., 2002 (no interview);
Med: April, 2003;
Completed IMM0008 form that CIC asked for and returned: July, 2003;
Submitted updated FP and other doc after request: Aug , 2004.

I have been following Buffalo Tracker (esp. your posts since we have similar timeframe) for a while. But recently, I noticed in one of your posts that you’ve been just asked for interview in Detroit and your application date is Jan, 2004. I am little confused here. If I am not mistaken, didn’t you apply for Canadian PR long time back (not Jan 2004) and same thing with Initial assessment? Can you please clarify my confusion? As for me, I am waiting for CIC response-one can never predict the next step from CIC- lesson learnt from this 3 years (almost) of painful process. My apologies for not able to answer your post. Hang in there and good luck!

Medical Situation- Please help me

Hi all,

I have a medical situation where I was born with an abnormal hip. It does not affect me now but it will need surgery to fix it later on. I know they do X rays at the medical.

Would they detect the abnormal hip with the X Ray?

Would this affect my immigration application?

Please any help is appreciated

jhonny,
Thats really suspicious!!!

runaway73,

As far as I can remember they do an Xray of the chest area, blood and urine test. I wonder if the hip issue can be detected by these tests.

Waiting for Initial assesment

Gurus,
Is there any one who applied during November and still waiting for the inital assessment.

What should I do to get status on my case ?

Hey Experts

Here's my story, can anyone provide pointers on why the delay.

- I started my Canadian PR Processing in June 2002.

- When I got married in Nov. 2002, I added my wife to my
application.

- I received my medical request in Sept. 2003 and responded
promptly. (no interview required)

- My wife received her medical request in Dec. 2003 and responded in
Jan. 2004.

Since then, we have not heard back from the Buffalo folks.

We sent a couple of faxes asking for application status but got no response.

I am wondering if adding my wife to the application has slowed things up
for us? OR if the Buffalo folks misplaced our application.

If anyone has had a similar experience, please comment.

Thanks

Cheval

Did you try to get your CAIPs information , that should help.

Also which nationality you have , it might be security check ?

Just to go to www.caipsnotes.com and you can pay them to get them for you, the entire procedure is explained on the web site, if you don't want to pay them have someone in Canada like a friend/relative request them for you its cheaper that way
