I have changed my address twice after my 485 and never received any acknoeldgwment from USCIS. I don't think they send any confirmation about address change you sent to them. But I hope they open the paper work and attach to the original 485 application. Infact I sent them overnight priority...

Madman72 is quite right on that. Mine was approved for the first time back in May2002 in a week after file date. My RD was May 22 2002 and I received EAD for myself and mywife on May 28..... More is yet to come to experience for your friends and no offense though... Good luck... Jhansu

I was exactly in the same situation two years back and just valid visa and passport is quite sufficient. But if you have any other credentials, it does not hurt to carry them. Just to be on the safe side with immigration department at the time of entry into US again. Good Luck
