USCIS smiles on us, FINALLY!

The venerable (my foot) USCIS has decided that it was about time our cases were approved. 26 months, 2 fingerprints, three EADs and three Advance Paroles later, we received our approval on April 20th. Both the website and the automated phone message were updated this morning. Ours was a labor substitution, EB3, no RFE case, cleared after a mere 10 days of second FP.

At the risk of understating, let me just say that it has been a painful journey, made all the more painful by the legendary inefficiencies of this monster known at different times by different names. I wish they became more sensitive to the pain and suffering that most of us are subjected to. May God give them the courage to become more conscientious, efficient, humane and proactive.

Good luck to all you folks still going through this grind. You are a nice community, though somewhat cantankerous at times!

Early FP

Hi chamanbahar,

My second FP is scheduled for 5/28.

Can I just walk-in and get it done early? Do you need a reason to do so?

I am hoping that if I take it sooner, I may get the approval quickly.

thanks.

Please by all means go early for the second FP. We, for one, did not have to give any excuse whatsoever. We went the day after we got our second FP notice. No questions asked. Follow the golden rule of "don't ask, don't tell". In the worst case scenario, if the center staff asks you to come back on 5/28, do that. You stand to lose nothing; on the other hand, if you succeed, you stand to gain your approval before 5/28!

Hope this helps.

Chamanbahar.
