How does this impact those that already filed their application? My assumption is that if you have filed your 485 application before the announcement of the revised/retrogressed date, your 485 approval may be delayed but atleast you can work on EAD card 6 months after filing the application...

No offense meant but if the very first thought you have after getting GC is when to leave the employer, then you did not choose a good employer in the first place. If it's very hard for you to continue employment with the sponsoring company(not getting paid on time, measly rate, no benefits,etc)...
