Correction: As nkm-oct23 AND acr said, the kids would automatically become citizens as soon as myself and/or my wife become citizens... ;)
Sorry about that ;).

Thanks for the quick replies -- I see this forum is still as useful as it ever was !
FWIW, there's more info on these "derivative citizenships" here: http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/2008/04/29/2008-04-29_some_kids_get_automatic_citizenship.html. As nkm-oct23 and acr said, the kids...
Hi all,
I used to be a fairly regular poster in the I-140 / I-485 forums. That was around 5 years ago (!) and now the point at which I (along with my wife and 2 kids) can apply for citizenship / naturalization is almost here.
I had a look through various FAQs but I didn't (yet) see any...
Hi -- a couple of follow-up questions if I may wrt the possibility of the I-140 / I-485 process continuing successfully even if an employee is no longer with the sponsoring company:
#1 What does a company have to do to revoke an I-140? I'm assuming they have to file a form -- is there a fee...
I *think* we made it -- I hope you did too :).
Our renewals went out on Friday (09/26) via FedEx and had to be received by Tuesday (09/30). I'm still waiting to get the receipt notice back from our lawyer a) to make sure things really did get renewed and b) so we have some kind of proof that...
Hi Jaxen.
Thanks very much for your reply!
We're all set to file the I-140/I-485 this week and it sounds like waiting to reset my status by re-entering the US once the H1B situation is resolved could mean a 16+ week delay (at VSC). It sounds like I better bug our lawyer to Fedex the...
My (first) H1B expires in about 8 days (on October 1st). For some inexplicable reason our lawyer is only now getting around to filing for a renewal (even though we started bugging him about this back in April)...
Question #1: At what point will I be able to travel to Canada and back? From...
Re: Hey ETA!!
Hi ssampy.
We're going for concurrent processing.
We've had our medicals (myself, my wife and 2/3 kids -- kid #3 was born here) -- all went well except I tested positive for TB exposure (fairly common apparently) and needed a chest x-ray to verify that I don't have TB (...
Re: How long??
Hey ssampy.
My LC was certified on 07/31 ( as you should know :) ). My lawyer received the approval notice on 08/14.
Congrats to all who have been approved recently and best of luck to those who are still waiting!

Re: Phone system not working
Try searching for "civil surgeons" + virginia with google.
We're in the Manassas area and I found a walk-in clinic located near Woodbridge that seems pretty good. I don't remember the name off-hand, although I do have it at home somewhere. If I can find it...
Re: Congrats ETA!!
This is a *huge* relief. Now I can finally enjoy my vacation :). Thanks for looking up my case ssampy!
Best of luck to everyone who is still pending -- I hope to see all of you on the I-140/I-485 forums if you go that route.

BTW, I'm in Montreal currently and for some reason the AVM doesn't work. I can dial in just fine but it doesn't seem to accept my case # or employer # when I enter them. I tried with 2 different phones so I don't think that's the problem. Anyone else run into this?
I guess I'll try again...
Re: Case remanded
Sorry to hear this nehachokshi -- are you in a similar boat to jatt5abda (2 or fewer years of experience / undergraduate degree only)?

Updated tracker with info from last 2 posts.
You can get the DOT code from the AVM once its there.
Note: I'll be unable to update the tracker again after today for a couple weeks -- hopefully my case will have been processed by that time :p.

Done.
Let us know when you get your actual reception date (I guessed that it will be 07/31 for now). Also what is your DOT code and are you using RIR? If you want to let me know your SESA reception date, that can go in too.

Based on the people who are in the tracker(s), Philly DOL is more or less processing late May / early June cases currently. There are only 3 cases which are being tracked that are older than 05/16 and which haven't been processed yet (laborhope1, hprabhu, nchokshi), and of these its possible...
Updated tracker with latest info from last several posts. Added links to DOT code site and online tracker.
It is strange how some cases seem to be getting done in around 2 weeks. Maybe they added a fast-track option...

Updated tracker with 06/16 cases mentioned by vicky_usa (hopefully none of these are in 2x since we don't have case #'s in the tracker currently).
Those 3 cases knocked the average processing time down by, like, 6 days .
