Kumar, if you call late (after 10PM) or really early in the morning you get right through to the automated appointment line, then select 'first available appointment' or 'particular day'.
Why would you pay extra + shipping if in Chicago or Boston it is fairly easy to get an appointment with the passport agency and you get the passport on the same day.. Just call the 877 number and schedule an appointment on the day or morning after your oath.
Use post office or the agency but I would probably not pay anyone extra. Some places in NY charge as much as 300 for a 2-3 day service, none less than 200; this is rediculous. There is one that comes up on google search first says it's 179 for one day they say their website hasn't been updated...
To Kmm
KMM, I am in a similar situation - have an appointment in NYC agency but need to travel sooner (I pressed 1 for english, then 2 for automated appointment). How did you get throught to the operator, what number do I need to press?
Thanks a lot
NY passport appointment
Hello,
1. I made an appointment in NY regional passport agency. Can I get the passport on the same day?
2. Do I get a new E-passport at this location?
Thanks.
I've seen it in the posts that if you listed a ticket you have to bring the court disposition letter. I never even went to court, just paid the fine. Pls help!!
Hello, my interview is next week. I listed a ticket that appears on my DMV record 4-5 years ago. The ticket was in California.
I plan to fly to California to obtain a proof that the ticket was paid (I have no record of payment myself).
Where do I go to to get the proof of paid ticket? I...
Hello, just applied 2 weeks ago and got my I-797 Notice of action. States missing evidence(s), will need to provide during the interview, is this normal? My case is very straightforward, 5 years LPR, single. Thanks in advance.
I haven't applied yet but I have been monotiring the NY timeline and it appears that NY has some of the fastest times in the country (as few as 3 months) and that Manhattan hired additional officers to deal with citizenship applications. You may want to browse the NY City timeline thread.
Hello, I don't want to change my name except for I want to drop my middle name, should I check "name change" on the form or just mention this to the officer during the interview? Thank you.
another traffic ticket question
Maybe somebody should put all of these in one batch...
I am ready to file except not sure what to put down for the parking tickets. Here is my story:
1) I had 3-4 speeding/stop sign tickets over 3 years ago in CA where DMV has no records after 3 years...
Yet another traffic citation question
Didn't want to create a separate thread for this one. Sadly my application is ready to be mailed, except for my mind is not made up on the traffic tickets issues...
In my case:
1) I had 3-4 speeding/stop sign tickets over 3 years ago in CA where DMV...
Please post in the above mentioned thread. Everyone in that thread is from New York and posting their timelines. Lets keep it alive. I'll be posting my timeline soon as well. Thanks!
Sounds like listing the tickets is a reasonable thing to do and there is no ambiguity. But if the application is not final until signed during the interview then bringing up the subject upfront should be ok also.
The question remains whether or not things can get slowed down because one...
different opinions about speeding tickets
But the FAQ section says you must list all traffic violations including minor violations and speeding tickets on the application.
Can this be clarified and if you in fact do not have to list the tickets the FAQ section be updated to that effect...
Hello, I am posting in this section because I did not get a response in the greencard section. I have a greencard, reentry permit, and I do not have a national passport. I am about to book a flight to Caribbean islands where you normally do not need a passport (greencard alone is fine) but in...
Hello. I do not have a national passport. I travel on a reentry permit booklet (travel document). After Jan 2007 everyone has to travel with their passport including Caribbean islands.
My question, can anyone answer siting source that it is ok to travel with travel document alone in lue of...
