2nd package received! Questions CP, interview in early Sept. Help appreciated!!!

Please read my big post on General info for DV winners ( see my signature ). There you would have found the answers to your questions : 1) copy is fine. the consulate is supposed to have received the original from KCC. 2) I134 for DV winners 3) that depends on the consulate. Even if there...

    Plastic card

It can take as little as 2 weeks to receive the plastic GC. Most people experience more like 4/5 weeks. But the IO at the POE will say that it can also take up to about 10months : that's why the stamp ( visa ) in your passport ( if CP ) is a temporary GC valid for one year ( from the date of...

    help

KCC doesn't care about it. You are a DV winner , you are not sponsored by your employer. When you'll have your interview, you'll be asked for evidence of support : your job offer is one of the 3 possibilities.

F1 to Green Card through CP need help! Interview coming in Sept.

Hi Lola, you can read my experience ( link in my signature ): my husband and I were also F1 students and we chose CP. My F1 visa is now cancelled ( " cancelled without prejudice " stamped accross my F1 visa ) because we were successful ( got the GC ). Honestly, I am not sure of what happens...

    Police Certificates from US

No, you do not need to apply for US police certificates. This is clearly stated in both the NL and the 2nd package. For other countries, you have to ask for them yourself : be careful, it may take a long time depending on the country. Please feel free to read te links provided in my signature.

    September cutoff numbers

Unless you're from Egypt or Ethiopia, your number is current ( whatever the value ). You can potentially get an interview : embassies/consulate will be very busy, so there is no guarantee. Yes, the best thing to do is to contact KCC : you may or may not be granted an interview date.

We Just got married this month

If you got married after your entry into the Lottery ( Nov-Dec ), you're fine. A lot of people do it : that's the only way if you want your bf/gf to immigrate with you. What you were told by jrcies is true : you'll have to send new forms for her ( updated to married ), and for you along with a...

Shall I add my children to my passport or do they need passports on their own??

I think they would need their own passport as the visa is put in the passport.

    Want to get married

yeah, but the Government is also hunting them down... Some people are asked to prove the 'reality' of their marriage : proofs that they've known each other for a long time ( pictures, bills...) Even though that's not my business, I agree with the two persons who disaprove.

    hi Catseyes

    1. I can only assume the reason for my delay: sent back the docs late because I married my bf. Look at my experince post in my signature. But, what happened is that I got interviewed in June instead of in April ( my number was current since April ). The worst things in case of delays are ...

affidavit of support for DV visa

I think that the lumpsum of 5000$ is not enough for a family of 5. Unless you also have job offers, and bank statements ( own funds ) http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/formsfee/forms/files/I-864p.pdf It says that the poverty guidelines is almost 30,000$ for a family of 5. As your sponsor says...

Extreme tricky questions? Please help I need all the input

Tax : yes, as a LPR, you have to declare your worldwide income, and file as resident ( forms 1040, 1040EZ...), but never the NR forms . It doesn't necessarily mean you will have to pay taxes on it ( deductions and exemptions ), but you must declare it. Are you going to keep a US residence ...

    High number cases

You're very welcome Ramoz. Now the question you sent via pm : finding a job in the US is a very broad question. Depends what you are looking for, and willing to do. Depending on your education, you can get well paying jobs, but it may take weeks or months to find one. So, some people accept...

    Delay in receiving green card

You did not give enough info, so I'll post multiple possibilities : - got your visa in the UAE, went to the US within 6m from approval: you should have received a plastic GC. If you did not receive one, you can file I90 for replacement of GC. - got your visa, did not go to the US within 6m...

    have 2 questions

    1) let's say the bulletin says advance notification for August numbers is 6000 for EU region. It means that people with case numbers below 6000 can get an interview. But higher case numbers will not be interviewed during that month. However, even if your number is below the cutoff, that does...

    High number cases

Unfortunqtely, that's like the roulette. For some people, background checks take a few hours ( it depends on your country of origin, if you have lived in the US...). But for others, it takes weeks, thus risky when called at the end. In the end , that's your call : do you want the visa that bad...

Notifying USCIS of address change after receiving GC

I thought that the AR11 was to notify DHS, but that to update your info with USCIS for ongoing cases, one would have to call the "1 800 " number.
