We are a family of five. we have an affidavid of support I-134 from a relative in USA, which includes the name of principal applicant and other accompanying members. Is it enough or we have to collect seperate affidavit for all five members? we have about one weeks time to appear for CP.

Hi!
The principal applicant alone need provide the affidavit of support as others derivating... names will appear on affidavit of support, by this,I don't think you all will need one another individually.
Pls,I 'd like to know,at No. 11, on the Affidavit of support (I-134) what did your sponsor write at that column,(i.e intend to support until gets a job or what did he/she writes for you?)as my sponsor doesn't know what to write at the column.Your help would be most appreciated...

I hope this helps...

Thanks

Thank you for reply. Regarding your query its written as,"will furnish room and board for one year and will contribute $5000 in a lumpsum." I dont know whether its enough!

Thanks for your answer.I forgot to add in my first reponse to your query.Make sure all those going for the interview alongside you have a photostart copy of the AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT.
I think $5000 should do..but wouldn't harm no one if more can still be added..considering the number of size of the family.

I hope this helps.

Form D230 For A Baby

GOOD TO HEAR OF A FAMILY THAT WON. I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST.

pLS CAN YOU HELP OUT?

OUR IS A FAMILY TOO FOR dv 2007. JUST TO ASK U ABOUT FILLING FORM D230.
1) IS THE PRIMARY WINNER THAT WILL FILL FORM D 230 FOR ALL HER FAMILY? OR THE HUSBAND WHO IS NOT THE WINNER CAN FILL AND SIGN FORM D230?

2) FOR A BABY, CAN THE WINNER SIGN FOR THE BABY OR THE BABY'S THUMB PRINT IS USED IN PLACE OF APPLICANT'S SIGNATURE.

1) Applicant is the person who's information is on the form. So, your husband's information and his signature should be on his DS-230.
2) Check out this link: http://boards.immigration.com/showthread.php?t=178810&highlight=sign.
I believe that information is in the instructions that you got from KCC, and I knew about it. But when I filled out DS-230s, I totally forgot about it, and had my nieces (12-years old, and 10-years old) sign their DS-230. I hope it won't be a problem.

I think either husband or wife can fill in the form. It makes little difference, if you know properly what they are asking you to fill in. Signature should be given by the applicant I mean the person whose name appears in column 1. For small babies I think it should be either parents signature. More clarification may be sought by e-mailing KCC.

I think that the lumpsum of 5000$ is not enough for a family of 5. Unless you also have job offers, and bank statements ( own funds )

http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/formsfee/forms/files/I-864p.pdf

It says that the poverty guidelines is almost 30,000$ for a family of 5. As your sponsor says he will provide housing, it could be less.
But if you do not have funds ( your own ), or a job offer, I think 5000 is not enough.
