What "crimes" would you mention?

Been wondering about this...

Would any of you mention trafic tickets or other things that didn't happen in the US?

I mean by what standards would you report them?
Driving for a woman in Saudi Arabia wouldn't be permitted, but would you mention that in your N-400 application?

What standards, if any, would you apply to anything that happened in another country?

I definitely wouldn't list any traffic tickets from abroad. As far as more serious "crimes" go, I'd compare them to offenses of an equivalent nature in the U.S. If an offense is not considered a crime in the U.S., I wouldn't list it.

LOL,

would need to be a Lawyer for that. If I am not mistaken 0.0 was alcohol limit in the former East Germany, so 0.1 would be a DUI, in the US that wouldn't matter.

Not wanting to split hairs, but interesting subject.

In Saudia Arabia, it's illegal to sell red roses on Valentine's Day.

In New York, it is illegal to talk to anybody in an elevator.

Most states has some dumb old laws like that which are never enforced anymore.

Marin, Does this have to do anything with you getting drunk in FRA and airport security having to subdue you a few years back?

The Saudi Arabian law concerning red roses is actively enforced. About a year ago, New York Times published an article about the Saudi moral police cracking down on any florist who violated the law.

As far as ridiculous laws go, it's illegal to sing in the shower in Philadelphia, and illegal to keep an elephant in your backyard in Oklahoma.

I wonder if someone can get citizenship in Saudi Arabia? Interesting what their interview procedure is - if there is a typo in N400, get 3 whips. Have a traffic ticket - Only 100 lashes.. Posting such messages - deportation..

I don't think you can get citizenship in Saudia and who in his/her right mind would apply?

Foreign women married to Saudi men can apply for citizenship after 10 years of residency. My USC sister lives there and has now completed the residency requirements. However she is very sure she will never apply for it :)
