Waiting Asylum decision

To get decision. FOIA is about 2 months waiting
Exactly. Mine just took 2 months.

Instead of receiving the FOIA, I get my approval notice in the mail.
I know from experience being an asylum seeker is hard for two main reasons. First off, for all the things that we being through in our own country. Secondly for all the wait and uncertainty.

My case took 10 years. Seven years to have an interview and three years to have a response after the three months FOIA filed.

So, to all of you out there sometime who might feel hopeless and keep receiving countless of NOs like myself for not having the proper status to obtain certain jobs: keep focusing on yourself, archiving small goals towards bigger ones one step at the time. Stay busy, your day will come before you know it.
Good luck to all of you!

I also wanted to thank everyone on the forum. You guys gave me hope and useful resources that I believe helped me get a 'quicker' response. My response came in the third month after I filed my FOIA which I didn't know about.

By response you meant FOIA file?

Wondering how they're conducting the interview these days; Is it online or in office? Dependents also join the interview?
how was your experience? Friends, can anyone pls share if you had interview in the last 1 year?
Pls mention your office too like Boston/SF/Chicago etc

I see some of people got approvals recently... @SanImmigrant @SVC08 @dejuro @Vivienne @Xerzi @m84

I had mine on 10/2/24 (Newark's Manhattan branch). It involved 6 hours in the office and 5.5 hours of interviewing.
I waited for my interview for 9 years and 4 months.... which was scheduled within a month after my attorney requested to be added to the short-notice list.

All dependents are required to be present. Dependents are only invited at the end of the interview for some security questions.

Today is 3 months and 3 days since the interview, but still "decision is pending".

Did anybody have an interview in the Newark/Manhattan office? if yes, what are your timelines?
