Waiting Asylum decision

I’m so happy I got new card being produced today as well.. I did an email inquiry, case inquiry and congress man to reach out for decision!!!
Congratulations!
Can you please share your timeline and how you got your interview? I heard expedite requests are very hard to get approved. Any advice on that?

Hi all

My asylum case was approved Aug 30th and my lawyer advised that I apply for GC after 6 months (i.e., March 1st), my concern with the new administration the rule to apply for GC before the 1 year may change. Now, I am confused what to do. Could you please advise if it would be safe to file my GC application before Jan 20th (that would be 4 months 3 weeks after approval)?

Also, what is currently processing time for asylum based GC?

Thanks

I have the same question. Can you please share the reason why lawyer advised to wait for 6 months? Is it theoretical reason or your lawyer has practice where his/her client got denials or GC with date of issue before approval?
My current and former lawyers told me that I can apply the next day after approval. I don’t know who is right

Hi all, this question might be mediocre but i wanted to know what next steps after approval should be? I have seen a few info regarding i-94, ssn, rtd and gc but if possible could anyone provide detailed info on how to get/change these and timeframe to do so. Thanks

The reason behind this is 1 year rule.
If you apply right away & USCIS get to your application within 12 months, you'll get denial and have to re-apply.
This happens rarely since current processing times are 16 months but you never know.
Therefore, lawyers recommend 6 months wait after approval.

Guys
I just got my asylum case status updated to Fees were waived, is that for sure an approval?

Applied in March 2017
Interview was in Nov 2018

I’m beyond excited, but I don’t don’t want to tell my wife yet.
