Waiting Asylum decision

Guys, when I applied for FOIA in 2017, I got a response 2 years later in 2019 in the form of a disc mailed to me and it contained only my asylum application (12 pages) with small corrections/ammendments in address, phone number etc. and check marks from the officer but no comments or assessment and the decision portion was empty, although the interview had taken place in 2014. What to make of it? Why it took 2 years for FOIA and why in the form of a disc? I read people getting the response online and in a few days or weeks.
LONG STORY SHORT, you need to sue them starting from tomorrow!!!! even if the result is negative, it is what it is better than waiting in limbo for unclear life. you need to contact an attorney who is expert in writ of mandamus case and sue them asap!! btw suing them won't have any negative effect on your case don't listen to these bs talk.

Thank you for your suggestion but my case was finally approved recently after 9 years and 4 months after interview. I have just been thinking about the possible causes of this delay.

I think you don’t want to leave your past. So carry on… nobody has time to reply these questions which make no sense and meanings now.

I cant believe you already approved and still worried about USCIS, Cmon man move on, people are dealing with life issues and you wanna litigate the past and made people waste time to answer your questions???

@seeker512 I applied for work permit renewal as my decision is still pending since nov 2021.
My wife got approved in 6 days but i am still waiting for it since 90 days. Why?
The reasons what I understand that you are the principal applicant and they may need more investigation on your case. Maybe your background check is still pending, that’s why your card is pending. The 2nd reason may be that your case is a little bit complicated and have some issues which need to be thoroughly worked on it. The bottom line is that this is a matter of concern but anyhow should be remain hopeful.
Remember, This is not a legal advice. This is just based on my knowledge, observation, experience and research.

he is talking about the EAD not a decision so there's no investigation or anything like that when it comes to the EAD renewal !!1 he is not referring to a decision

with USCIS everything is random so i see people applied after me and got the RTD AND other applied longer than me and still waiting so with USCIS it's all by random so just let it go and don't focus a lot with them because no one knows how they pick the cases they wanna finish first.

I know that he taking about EAD. I replied him properly. Probably you don’t read my reply carefully. Remember EAD is linked with the decision of your pending case. I have already gone through every step of immigration process. That’s why I wrote that based on my knowledge, study and research, these are may be the reasons. And normally my observations and prediction becomes 95% accurate.

RTD is completely a separate document. People usually apply for that after approval.

i understand that but USCIS usually adjudicate cases randomly not based on being from specific country or gender or anything like that it's all random!
No. Every EAD is linked with Asylum clock. And asylum clock is linked with the status of asylum application. Asylum clock is different from EAD clock. If Asylum clock is stopped then EAD will not be issued. It’s a long detail, I cannot explain here. Next is why asylum clock is stopped. So, in short, his EAD is pending due to his decision.

same situation, i am the principal applicant, my decision is pending since May 2022 and we applied the same day November 6, 2023, but my wife got her card in 3 weeks, and mine still pending says: Your case is taking longer than expected to process. You will be notified if you need to take any action.
on my asylum case says: Application is pending.
we send a second application for my wife on April 2023 still waiting for her interview appointment.

He got a point. Think about the 9 year waiting time, a decade of your life wasted just waiting. That sound be enough ground to sue them and ask reason. At least they will start to care for the rest of people still waiting(who knows). Accountability makes things right. USCIS should have good reason to keep others life on hold. You may even ask compensation whether they admit it or not is another issue but you indeed deserve justification.

First of all, USCIS not requested or forced him to come to US and apply for asylum. He came here and applied for asylum. If he couldn’t wait, he should have quit right away 9 years ago. They have hundred of reasons to prove their version. So please go ahead and do what you want to do. It’s his decision. Don’t waste other’s time and ask them what to do?

Yes, but Asylum seekers are human beings. Any international humanitarian and human rights instrument protect them. The US has obligation to respect that and do the bare minimum. WE ARE ASKING IF THEY DON'T WANNA ALLOW US TO STAY, TO GIVE US TIMLY REJECTION!!! As long as Asylum seekers are with in US jurisdiction they deserve treatment not less or more then anyone within territorial jurisdiction. This is what the US owe to international community. Well, they say US lead by example for that matter lol. FYI, the US is signatory to the 1951 refuge convention. It is all about time one day you will witness the due process will apply for prolonged cases. But, for now in fact people given up on the US immigration system leaving the US to different country like Canada. Above all, its always good to recognize others pain!!
