Waiting Asylum decision

IMO, the application pending means some type of background check and the asylum office isn't doing anything during that period, until they hear back from the background check departments.

Because mostly after Decision is Pending changes to Decision was Mailed or Fee were Waived. Changing the status to Application is pending means they are reviewing your application and it may be referred to court. This is guess is based on my experience/observation. See what happens. let's hope for the best.

Guys, i am losing it, 7 years i have not seen my mum and Dad. I can't take it anymore. 2 years decision pending, wrote to congressman, foia, cis Nothing!!!.

July 5, 2022 I-485 Received
July 6, 2022 Fingerprint fee was received
July 8, 2022 Check cashed
July 14, 2022 Fingerprints were taken (reuse)
October 4, 2022 RFE Request (Medical was lost by USCIS)
November 4, 2022 RFE Response Received
April 3, 2023 Case transferred to LA County FO (according to emma chat) (I am based in east coast)
April 13, 2023 Service Request submitted because 60+ days since RFE
April 21, 2023 Response to service request: case has moved forward in the process
May 18, 2023 Congressperson sent service request
July 10, 2023 Congressperson inquiry response: identified as potential interview waiver processing normally
July 24, 2023 Another Service Request submitted because 60+ days since RFE
August 30, 2023 Response to service request: case has moved forward in the process
September 14, FOIA filed for I-485 (to try to get the case to move)
September 22, 2023 RFE Request (missing vaccine on medical form)
October 24, 2023 RFE Response received
October 24, 2023 FOIA response (nothing useful in the response but seemed to move the case? or I am just delusional)
October 26, 2023 New card is being produced!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will update when I actually receive the card in hand but so thankful to get a break from USCIS for the next 4 years

Congrats guys! That's at least something. Does anyone know the max waiting after interview until decision is made? The longest I heard so far is 3years. Please share your experience here.

Same here! I haven't seen my family for 7 years either. Be patient. I hope you hear something soon.

I have been waiting for 8 years and yet waiting for an interview!! It’s so frustrating! 8 years and counting for an interview!

If I hadn't filed for a Writ of Mandamus, I would probably still be waiting. Have you considered filing for one?

My friend, i also suggest writting countless letters to the asylum office coodinator at the office handling your case. I did that to the Boston asylum office, write about 7 letters requesting to be interviewed. She wrote back after the 7th letter saying that she has me next in line if someone calls out and within 2 weeks, the office called me to come in for interview in 2 days.
