Waiting Asylum decision

@seeker512 Please, do you know how long it takes USCIS to make a decision after responding to NOID because it's already over a year since I submitted my response. I'm very frustrated now, I need to see my parents. They are getting old and they are getting sick. Thanks in advance!

Usually they don't take long time to decide the case after NOID but maybe due to some reasons, your case is in limbo. Contact your congressman for help to get the decision.

EAD validity becomes 5YEARS!!!!!, Hopefully this frees up more time for uscis to attend to more pressing issues like interviews

Working with EAD is an independent department under USCIS. Asylum Office scope is completely separate. There is no impact of 5 years EAD on asylum interviews. The only impact that it will impact and reduce the EAD and GC backlog.

Is 5yrs rule effective for ead or it will take some time. I just applied 3-4 days ago for ead.

Thank you Law offices of Rajiv S. Khanna, PC for creating this forum!!

I had my Asylum application submitted in 2019 and had interview in 2021. I never heard back from them then after. My status says Decision is Pending! I waited for 6 month and sent an inquiry email. No one replied. I call their customer service number almost everyday and even left voicemail in several occasions, NO ONE ON EARTH ANSWERS A CALL IN San Francisco Asylum Office. No procedure in place at least to get proper update. We left our country bc of tyrant government and system and here smh.... IDK what to do. As a last resort I'm planning on going to the Asylum office in person. Please let me know if anything that I need to know bf my visit. Is there anyone been in to San Francisco Asylum Office for status update? Please share your experience.

I received my asylum file after requesting a FOIA. However, I am not seeing the assessment to grant file. No indication about the asylum officer decision.
- Interview : 8/15/2023
- FOIA request : 8/29/2023
