Friends,

I am also one of the silent reader of this forum since two years.

My application has been filed with VA SESA on 06/13/2002. I called Richmod two weeks back and guy said that my case is in processing. While, as per the forum they were processing 06/16 or 17th cases.

I have been just informed by our lawyer that SESA issued remand on my application. The reason for remand is "Acquistion of company A by Company B". When I filed my application I was working for Company A and it was later on acquired by Company B in Jan-2003.

I spoke with lawyer(who is one of the big firm in US) and he said they will send paperwork to my manager and he need to sign, then they will respond to SESA.

Now, my question to gurus are, Is there any one who have been in the similar situation? if yes, then what was the outcome? How long does it take normally?

It is so frustrating that you are almost there but still not there...

Thank you

Hi,
Just curious: What is the format of case number which is issued by VEC? I mean how long is the case number, is there any specific sequence of numbers, is it sequential or etc?

Thanks,

need labor

Hello all I am new to this forum.
I am working as a consultant. My employer agreed to apply for my GC in KY. I have given my papers to lawyer. He said he will apply for my labor in few days. I know this employer very well. But my project may end in 1 or 2 months.

I heard I can buy labor certificate if some one has it. I want to go for it. Since my project is uncertain.
Is it required to get one more H1 to apply for I140 & 485 if I get labor clearace form someone?

If you know some one who has labor clearance I am ready to pay.

Please help me in this.

Thanks
Kumar

DOL update

03/08/2004: DOL Labor Certification Backlog Reduction Centers Launched Operation?

The DOL has been pressing ahead its long-term strategic plan to operate the wagon, named "backlog reduction," in two wheels: One is the launch of the reengineered labor certification program named "PERM," and the other wheel is the reduction of backlog cases which remain in the pipeline at the time they launch the new PERM labor certification procedure. As we reported, the final rule of PERM is under review by OMB and it is almost certain that the PERM program will go into operation later part of this calendar year. Along with the PERM program, the DOL has also been working on operating two special backlog reduction centers which will process the current backlog cases in the large states and regional certifying offices. Supposedly these backlog reduction centers should start its operation ahead of the PERM launch.

Now, unconfirmed sources indicate that these reduction centers have just started their operation and the backlog cases are being transferred to the centers for processing. It is expected that sooner or later, the DOL will announce the launch of these centers. Please stay tuned to this website for development of this unconfirmed news.

VEC Case Numbers have 8 digits (including the zero at the beginning of the number). For example, case number is 034617** for cases received around April 2003.
Hope this helps!

Hi,
Thanks for your reply to my question on the following thread:

http://boards.immigrationportal.com...7177#post717177

One more question: are these numbers assigned sequentially? If not, are these numbers based on the application date or something like that?

According to you, 034617** is the number for the application received around april 2003. But my company gave me following case number for application filed in Oct: 030741** !!!

how to verify whether a case number belong to me? or wether my company is not playing with me? honestly, I am very confused.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Stewart Rogers

My guess is that it is sequential but I am not sure.
I know of a friend's LC in VA filed on Aug 18, 2003 and her case number is 034633**

You may want to call VEC at their Richmond Office (804 236 2717). Give them your case number and they will tell you the receipt date. It should be in their database. You will be able to verify it by talking to them.

I once gave my case number to a guy at VEC Richmond and enquired the status. He told me the exact receipt date which concurred with what my company / lawyer gave me.

Hope this helps!

Here is a list of VEC case numbers and their corresponding receipt dates from the database downloaded from www.flcdatacenter.com

VEC Case # VEC Receipt Date
---------------------------------------------------
03121354 03/27/2003
02465811 11/19/2002
01468991 10/22/2002
01469682 06/20/2002
02461447 03/14/2002
02461332 03/07/2002
02461307 03/06/2002
02460921 02/14/2002
02460848 02/12/2002
02460824 02/11/2002
02460816 02/11/2002
02460813 02/11/2002
02460820 02/11/2002
02460821 02/11/2002

02460719 02/05/2002
02460699 02/04/2002

I think the first two digits of the case number stands for the year in which the case was filed. (03 for 2003, 02 for 2002, etc.). I am not sure though.

Can some one Pl. help me out.
My Receipt date was 05/20/02. Filed in Richmond. Got a query on 02/10/04. Requested to confirm whether my address & employer address is correct or not? Replied back on 02/11/04. Nothing was heard from labor dept. Does any one has any idea how long will it take? Is it a good idea to call them & inquire? Any suggestions?PL.. Thanks

Richmond update for south office.

Called the south office in Richmond 674-3719. They say that they are working on May 3rd week didnt get the exact date.

Also it seems they have a good bunch of cases in June 2002.

well I am confused big times. according to subham009 and mb1, DOL is processing Jul 8th or July 9th applications, whereas lcwait and laborpain01 reported May/Jun applications !!!! adding to the confusion, immigration.com itself report 06/28/2002 as the application processing date !!!!!

WHAT IS GOING ON GUYS? who to believe, who to not believe?

Stewart its simple, apparently there are two offices in richmond.
The 674.XXXX number is around 1 - 2 months behind the office where mb1 calls. Both the dates are accurate, it depends which office is processing your case. I have confirmed this with my lawyer too.
