Security check vs. name check

I've called USCIS today, and they told me my security check was completed, but my FP is not on my record yet (was done on 12/19).
What are the next steps to get approval?
How long does it take to get approval after security check is completed?
Are name check and security check the same?

EB2 - Hungary - TSC
LC: PD 9/12/03, AD 6/22/06
AP/EAD: 8/18/06, AD 9/14/06
I-140: RD 8/18/06, RFE 10/3/06, LUD 10/24/06, AD 11/02/06
I-485: RD 8/18/06, FP 12/19/06 ???

u have to expect a decision very soon on ur i485. did u know when ur namecheck got cleared? if u call again can u ask ?

There are a lot of guys to call TSC to check the name check status. Could you tell me the telephone number and which options should be selected during the menu ?

FBI Name Check PENDING OVER 3 YRS

Applied for K-1 Visa from Canada 2001, entered 2002 (even K-1 was delayed) entered 8-02, married 11-02/filed i-485 11-02, interview successful 10-03.

FBI NAME CHECK STILL PENDING. HELP!

did u try to expedite ur namecheck? did u do anything? if so, what u did?

the only solution is to file a lawsuit and finish from this crap. why u didn't act all this time?

They have done that to me, My I140 Was approved in March, and they give LUD in DEC and send another apporval Notice in Dec, Now I have TWO I140 approvals(one from March and One from DEC with different Dates),

Hi ,

Have you checked wh didn't ur application is not yet approved . I think for India and China the time exeeds the normal processing time
 
doesn't help checking, I ahve initiated an enquiry in Nov first week, as usual they say they will contact me within 45 days(already over), There is nothing I can do other than waiting for Jan so if they release the Q2 Quota for EB2(India)- which is approx 325 VISAs for the employee(rest goes to family members)
Here is the deal
140,000 Total Employment based VISAs
Max 7% to one Country = 9800 max for any country
approx 56% (of 9800) goes to the dependents(family members of applicants)= 5488
Visas left for Applicants= 9800-5488= 4312

Divide approx by 30%(EB1), 30%(EB2), 30%(EB1), 10% speciality (nurses, teachers, bilingual etc)
= 1293(30%) Round off to 1300 per year approx for applicant.

Few visas left from EB1 are given to EB2 and followed by to EB1(this is done at the end of the year).

So now divide 1300/4= 325

So this is the magic Number 325 per Quarter for one country,


I hope I may fall within 325 for the second Qtr(Jan-Mar, 2007) if not wait for another Qtr starting April(apply EAD and AP again)

Hope I tried to make it clearer - what happens for GC (employment based only)- Didn't even bother to count for family based GCs for calculation sake.

simply then talk with ur congressman. he will interfere with uscis and u will get ur I485 cleared. don't waste time.
 
TSC not entertaining the calls ...

Hi,
I called today TSC and the rep saying that no longer they will tell the case status. They are asking me to look at the website for the case status.

Any one experienced the similar problem.

it depends on the officer u r talking with. if u call again, maybe another officer will be nice and tell u the status. it is officer sensitive.

I had the same experience two days ago. The lady told me they don't give out that information any more. I guess eventually, we have to exercise the power of the local congressman to figure out these things.
 
Do you know whether they track the calls?. I mean do they record call date against our receipt.

for sure they are not that sophisticated. all the delays that we r in is because that they have very old fashioned computer system tracking. so don't worry call them again.
