Transferred to Local INS office in Washington -Aug 15th RD

ironklad,

Look like you are confused with my statements. Mine is a future employment case. After obtaining the GC i am going to work with the sponsoring employer. I requested the sponsoring employer to give a letter saying that i am going to work with them after the GC is approved. We already submitted this when we filed 485 in Dec 2002 but i am getting the latest dated supporting employment letter from sponsoring employer. Just in case if the officer asks me to see the sponsoring employer's tax documents i am going to take a copy of tax documents of my sponsoring employer. I am going to show it to them. But if the officers then only i am going to do it.

Regarding my W2's i am going to submitt all the 3 year W2's as is.

I am not opting AC21. Hope i am clear.

INS Vs IRS

Hi Friends,

This question has been rasied in an outside discussion for a friend's situation.

"Is there any link between INS and IRS to cross check our W2s and tax returns or etc. from IRS, I mean any auto system cross check, other than manually sending to my a mail to IRS for cross verfication"

Please present your ideas/exp./views

Thanks for your time.

If your case happens to be transferred then count anywhere between 4-13 months for the Arlington (now Dunn loring) office to schedule an interview. Some lucky folks have got through pretty quickly.

Whats the current status of your case?

Need Info....

I was told by the USCIS immigration officer over the phone that my and my wife's 485 cases were transfered from Vermont to the local Arlington office. We have not received any notices from USCIS on these cases, other than fingerprintings. We have been fingerprinted twice so far - once in May 2003 and second time in Sep 2004.

Can someone please let me know if scheduling an interview (using InfoPass) with the local office would help? What can I expect in that? (Or should we wait some time?)

Also, I have read referrences to Senator Allen's office ( Emily Evans ) in this thread. Could someone please provide me any contact information for them so I can also seek help? How and on what grounds can they help in escalating our case?

I would really appreciate your help!
Thank YOU!!

wonderfulboy,

My friend, whose case been moved to Atlanta local office.
In 2001/02 he was laid off from a huge temcom company, then he was claimed Unemployement benefits,he also reported to IRS in his tax returns, then he filed GC from some other company.

Thanks for your advices

Here's what you asked for:
Emily Evans Gaitonde
Immigration Specialist
Northern Virginia Office of Senator George Allen
2214 Rock Hill Road, Suite 100
Herndon, Virginia 20170
(703) 435-0039 (voice)
(703) 435-3446 (fax)

I would advice you to wait for a month(atleast) after you get the notice in mail. Usually it so happens that USCIS mails the notice out but the files aren't physically transferred to local office.

If the case has been recently transferred, the Senator's office won't be of much help. Thats my 2c.

Hi Guys,
Good News
Got our passports stamped today. Reached INS office half an hour before the scheduled time and came out within 30 minutes. She checked approval letter, collected EAD, I-94 and stamped PP. Over all it took only 30 minutes.

Adnamj - The whole credit goes to you. Because you did pass your infopass to me. Which saved my atleast 15 days. Really I am very thankfull to you for all your help not only passing your infopass infact all your encouraging tips.
Sorry, I could not write early as I got stuck in my office and just reached home and writing this. Sorry again for updating late....

Thanks to all for sharing their valuable views , especially this FORUM and to Mr Rajiv Khanna.

I will still be checking this site everyday. At last I can pray for all to get through this tough phase and get their GCs approved ASAP.

Wish you all the best again and thanks again to all.

Adnamj - Thanks again and best of luck for your Name check and final approval.

Clarification as part of preparing for interview

Hi PeaceinSpirit,

How are you handling this required document asked by Immigration Services

"Your Spouse and Evidence of a common residence and shared life (include photos)"

Wonderful,
From the past experience( from my friends ofcourse), you would need the following :
1. Evidence of common residence
Lease agreement, bank statement(join account), utility bills(showing both yours and your spouse's name), etc

2. Evidence of Shared life
Take your marriage snaps and snaps that you clicked together.

I feel this is a formality to show that you and your spouse are married and stay together. There have been a lot of bogus cases wherein people show that they are married, the intent being Green Card. After getting the card , they get separated.

Hope this helps

Great News congratulations. Now you can take that very well deserved vacation. I have a friend who was working two jobs(one with an investment management firm and one at a gas station because of his sponsorship). He got his green card last year.
