Transferred to Local INS office in Washington -Aug 15th RD

I didn't get a chance to my lawyer on this. I am also planning to drive down to fairfax office and then ask them about the finger printing.

Coming to Medicals how do you have the copy of your previous Medicals? Because they will give the report in a sealed cover right. Probably i need to all of them. Just let me know how u got your previous medical report?

hey peaceinspirt & wonderfulboy, congrats to you both of you since you guys are 1 step closer.
when was your letter sent ? did your lawyer also get a copy?
My wife's case was xferred on 7/7/2004.
We are still waiting and are now in Texas.
We had sent a change of address to both Dc local office ( Arlington then )
& to the Kentucky address.
We rec'd acknowledgements from both immediately but nothing has happened since.

Medical exam

Wonderfulboy, the doctor should give you a copy after you did the exam, and one sealed envelop for CIS. That's how I have a copy. Ask your lawyer, he/she may have a copy too.

When are you planning to go to the local office to ask about the finger printing? COuld you share the information with me after that? I will probably go around 11am tomorrow.

PeaceinSpirit,

I am also planning to go sometime tomorrow. I found the copies of the medical report given the doctors yesterday for both me and my wife. I am going to visit local office regarding finger prints and also doctor today itself.

Do we need to take immigration based photographs also by any chance? I didn't they mentioning it any where though?

How about educational certificates? I hope they don't need all those right :)? I am kind a very of cautious about things. Espcecially regarding the GC process we waited for almost 4 year period its very crucial to complete this process successfully.

Keep me posted with all the updates from your side. I will do the same.

It should be really helpful for others at the time of interview.

PeaceInSpirit, I had the same issue when I got my letter. It asked me to go for fingerprinting but gave no date or time. I spoke with my lawyer and she said I should call the 800 number and schedule appointments as soon as possible. So I did that (USCIS number is (800) 375-5283). They scheduled the appointements for me and my wife at the Alexandria office. But the people at that service center are not very helpful at all. They made us go there 3 times. Only the 3rd time they took our fingerprints. So talk to your attorney and see what she/he says and then also schedule your appointments as soon as possible. The people at the fingerprinting office were upset that there was no date or time on the letters. I gave them the confirmation numbers but she said they are too busy and can't do it today (It was Saturday). She asked us to come back on Tuesday and she wrote on our letters that she has asked us to come back. So we went on Tuesday and finally our fingerprints were done. If you do make appointments, make sure it is not Saturday and also try to make it early in the day so that they don't have many people and are running on time. They do not have a concept of 'customer service' at all.

WonderfulBoy>>>> I think you should really make all effort to get your wife back for the interview unless, like other people said, you wanna go thru all this hassle for who knows how long.

Take as much documentation as possible. If you went to school in States, take your I-20s, transcripts and diploma. You should take with you both the originals and a copy for yourself and a copy of each dependent.

Form I-134 is an affidavit of support. You can get it and print it from www.uscis.gov. You need it fill it out according to the instructions and have it notarized by a notary public.

Hope it helps.

Hey Wonderfulboy,
I know you must be busy gathering documents but if you could let me know your Employment Category, that would be great.

-Thanks and hope you're getting set for the D day.
Happy holidays

Hi Friend,

Mine is a EB2 RIR employment category 485 application. My application got transferred on 23rd September 2004. Received the interview letters on last friday i.e. 17th December 2004. The interview date is 1/04/2005 at 10:45AM with G officer.

As and when saw online that my case got transferred on 23rd September morning. Immediately i read relevant section immigration forum messages and understood that its a very long process. I almost called 10-20 times the National Customer Service guys to know the processing timelines of local office etc.

The very same day i prepared a very big letter addressing it to senator's office both Senator George Allen's Office and Senator Warner, called senator george allen's office spoke Emily Evans Immigration Specialist and faxed her the copy of the letter i drafted.

Then i took infopass appointment for 2nd week of October and in that they said it will take 4-6 months time to get the interview. Then i was in constant touch with Immigration Specialist i mentioned.

In 1st week of December she received a fax from the local office that our (me and my wife's) case will be scheduled sometime in December or January 2005. I thought it will really surprising if they can do that. But they did surprisingly i received interview letter and i am going to be interviewed within 3months 11 days after the case got transferred.

I hope all of you my friends who are waiting for the GC's to be approved will be scheduled sooner the later. I know how tough it will be in working on visa with different kind of problems. Its will be a great sight of relief.

I wish there should not be any kind of problems in the interview time. I will definitely keep you all posted about my interview experience.

My GC process was not complicated at all except that Labour took almost 17 months (both state and federal) and then I-140 (just 11/2 months). The only hurdle i had is local transfer. That didn't really scared as what i thought of.

Look forward guys.

Thanks for providing details on your case. I contacted Emily at Sen. George Allen's office. She is going to provide me some input on my case this week. Lets hope to see the interview letter soon in the mail.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Wonderfulboy, do you have any further information on your finger printing notice? I contacted my lawyer, she said don't worry about that, just go to the interview with the most recent finger printing notice and the receipt to show that you've done that. Since there is no date and time on that, we are not missing an appointment.

Wonderfulboy, I think I am going to take the photos again, just in case, and it's just another $10. I am also going to bring any related documents with me, like transcripts, I-20, etc.

Sorry guys I was away from the computer ... Really its a good news that people have started getting interview letters ..may be it will speed up the process just after the Christmas holidays....anyway heartiest congratulations wonderfulboy ... and wish you all the best for the interview.

Adnamj - Thanks again for all your help...

Thanks again

Ead Renewed

Hi All, We had been to New USCIS office today, and our EADs got renewed
asked us to come 29th to pick EADs.
The lady at counter was nice and we asked about our 485 interviews,
She said they just moved new office and settling down, they have long backlogs and they are curretly processing DEC'03 cases.
She has no idea ow long it is going to take.

Thanks

TX to DC and Now back to TX

Friends to be specific.

These are our details -

I-485 filed in May 02 with TSC .. since I lived in HoustonTX.
Changed jobs after 180 days.

Aug 03 - Moved to VA, filed AR-11
Oct 03 - 1st FP
Nov 03 - 2nd FP

June-end 04 - Decided to move back to Houston.

7th July 04 - wife's case (derivative ) got xferred to DC local office.
10th July 04 - My case got approved, I got stamped on 15th July with e-mail print out & rec'd card at VA address.
stamping on 15th July was important because same evening I moved back to Houston.

Aug 04 - Applied for AR 11 to both DC field office & kentucky address.
Rec'd DC office's acknowledge.

I was hoping for my wife's case to be xferred back to Houston as I think when DC office schedules my wife's interview and finds
we now live in TX, they will transfer the case back to TX.
So rather it gets transferred back to Houston then I would prefer it to be transferred now or Approved ( since the primary is already approved).

1> Senator Allen's office ( Emily Evans ) said she couldn't help since we now live in Texas
2> My TX district got rezoned so we have a New Congressman whose office said they can help only when the new Congress goes into office ( so in Jan).

So This morn, Dec 20th , I got a InfoPass appt at Houston D.O. The lady officer gave us sympathetic hearing and asked me why was my wife's case stuck at DC local office.
She then said she would be e-mailing the Service center for my wife's case to be transferred back to TX.
In fact it seemed like she typed the mail right in front of me and before we left, she told me I can ask for feedback on this in 6-8 weeks time.

Now I am wondering if I shd also take a Infopass at DC local office, and then fly there and request in person for my wife's case to be xferred back to TX ?

I appreciate if you read until this.
Any suggestions/ideas will be very welcome.

Wonderfulboy, I decided to go to the fingerprinting this morning. I went to the support center. The officer who was verifying the letter before the door's open put the date on my appointment letter. So I got in and had my finger printed again.

Hi PeaceInSpirit,

I don't know what supporting center you went to I went to Alexandria Support Center around 9:10am they checked the letter exactly at front of the door and they gave the token after filling up the form. I went to gave my finger prints and gave all the finger prints. During the time of taking finger prints i told the lady that i gave finger prints in July 2004 (2nd Finger Prints).

Then she asked me to wait went to meet their officers and after a while she came back and said there is no need for me to do finger prints because Finger Prints are valid till September - october 2005. She gave me the letter sent by local office in regards to Finger Prints.

I will get medical reports by tomorrow. I am going to get Employment Supporting Letter and also the latest (2003) tax returns also from the sponsoring employer.

Today and tomorrow i am going to arrange everything as original file and replica copy file for me and as well i am going to make a file for my wife also. I am going to take all of them to interview.

I also received the letter from my attorney (Rajiv Khanna's office) requesting the interview schedule to be rescheduled for my wife. I am parallely following up with Emily Evans (Imm. Specialist for Geore Allen's Office also).

I am going to immigration photographs also just in case as you mentioned.

Wonderfulboy, I went to the Alexandria Support Center too. I did not mention I just did the second one recently, because I thought the last one may not go through very well, that may be why they wanted me to do again. And I remembered that last time there were several warnings of matching. This time, the same lady did it for me, still several warnings. I was kind of worring about that, the computer was suddenly shut down. She was upset and had to find another computer to redo. I was happy though, because the last one went though very well, no any warnings.

I also got my empolyment letter, and my manager is preparing another supporting letter for me, to explain how my research is still national interests related. I also need to refill a I-134 form for my husband. My lawyer is also preparing a letter for me to bring in, just in case, since she is in WA state, not here.

Thanks for sharing information

Good luck for everyone who is still waiting

I thought you were not working with the sponsoring employer. If that is the case how are you arranging the Employment Supporting Letter and also the latest (2003) tax returns from the sponsoring employer. Also I could not really understand how the tax returns are related to the sponsoring employer. You must have got your W2s from the employers that you were working with during that time frame. And if you were not working with ur sponsoring employer at that time how can you get the W2 from them now ? I will appreciate if you please clarify. The reason why I am asking is because my case is similar and I thought you had the intention to use AC 21 in the interview, that is what I also intent to do. Please let me know what is the plea you intend to use in the invw now.

Thanks
