ZKHAN,

Are you applying ead by yourself or from your attorney? I need to apply my 4th ead, and don't know which INS office I applied for my 3rd one and which office I have to file this time... mine is transferred case also...
Can you give me specific address if you could?
Thanks in advance...

I applied for my fourth ead through my lawyer two months ago and I am expecting my approval sometime in november. My lawyer mailed my application to the Arlington office. The good old arlington office right next to the Wachovia Bank.

Sorry I forgot to write the address

Mailing Address:
Washington District Office

The interview scheduling will take atleast 6+ months in your case. So if you have opportunity to work with sponsoring employer readily available i would start asking you to work with them. That way you are working history with them and u can say prefering AC21 in the interview.

The other way round is you to work with employer Y and then afterwards obtaining GC (after successful interview) work with sponsoring employer for reasonable period of time (May be 6 months) and then moving to any opportunity or continue with them.

Thanks Wonderfulboy, that gave me some confidence..

So you mean to say, If i choose second option, I no need to work for my GC sponsored employer until my GC get approved because of Future employee clause.I can continue with my present employer on EAD.

Also VSC received my EAD renewal application 10/27/04(through express mail) and they sent i-485 to local INS on 10/28/04.
Does this I485 move will effect anything in getting 2nd EAD.

Thanks a lot for your time and valuable suggestions and comments.

Your EAD application would be transferred to the local office too. Just watch out the updated status on your EAD.

Please Help me,...I would liek to have your suggestion on below matter..

Hi All,

I told you guys that we submitted our applications for 3rd EAD and AP extensions to our attorney office (rajiv's office). Vermont received the application on 19th October. Today i.e. 4th November they transferred all EAD and AP applications of me and my wife are transferred to Washington DC office.

Do you guys have any idea what's the time frame for EAD and AP processing in Washington DC office?

I dont know why your lawyers office filled the EAD and AP in Vermont. Once the file has been transferred to Arlington, the EAD and AP should have been applied there. We got the AP in 6 weeks from arlington.

Hi SWaiting,

Is this 90 days rule at loacl INS will apply for renewals too if i485 is pending at local INS.
OR we can walk in any time(ofcourse, by app.) to get EAD?.

Thanks...

Wrong !!. No need to file again at local office if application transfered from service center.

Yes, The 90 day rule for EAD applicable for local office also.

Yes, Approval of any application based on local processing dates.

Name check

Any one of you guys recieved result for name check?
I faxed and email the FBI on 10/21, No result yet

I emailed the name check requested for me and my wife sometime near 10/21 too. i didn't get the feedback from FBI yet.

Swaiting,

When you said you guys received AP in 6 weeks time from Arlington Office that mean will they send the approvals through mail to us personally along with immigration lawyer's office from arlington office?

How are they working on EAD's? How much time are they taking for that? Is the processing times given in local processing times for EAD (August 2004) and AP (July 2004) applicable for cases that are transferred or will they be applied for cases directly filed in local office?

Our EAD's are expiring by February 1st -2nd Week 2005. May be around 3 months from now. If we don't get EAD approvals from Arlington office by that time frame can we get the interim EAD immediately?

How long will they take to get Interim EAD? Do we need to take appointment to get Interim EAD also? What if we don't see available appointnments during that time?

I heard people should not work expired EAD (my wife is working on EAD) and i am working on H1 visa.

Volunteer work

I know this question is not relavent to this thread but if somebody could answer it. Can Volunteer work(un paid) be used as work experience in a substitution case(I140 filing)???

I would appreciate any comments.

This is response i got finally after waiting from Immigration specialist of Senator George Allen's office who contacted Washington DC office regarding the case status of our transferred 485 applications.

"Your cases are there but have not been assigned to an officer. It will
take a few months to do this because the Washington District Office is
moving to a new building. As soon as your case has been assigned to an
officer, you will receive a notice in the mail. They told us that they
don't have a time that your case will be completed. They asked me to
check back around December 1. When I obtain an update from them, I will let you know. "

This question is for a friend who does not visit this forum. I realize that we are all way past this stage but any experienced people out there could help out here.

Didn't mean to comment on the efforts of George Allen's office but when their office has the power to speak to an immigration officer sitting in DC office, why can't they find the information the timebound info for us.

If they had answered something like this, "DC office is going to move in the first week of December, your case is a September case..will be assigned to an office around (month)." it would have made some sense.

We all know that the DC office is moving from the month of August. They haven't moved till date and there is no fixed date yet. No one knows, not even the people working there. This really sucks.

Again didn't mean to say that WONDERFULBOY's efforts in finding the status of the case went in vain, but we all are royally stuck. Only the interview notice in the mailbox (some evening) will give us a relief. Till then we all have to hold on..I guess.

My 2c
