Called emergency number again - name check still pending
I called up emergency number again today. Got a nice person to talk to. He took my A#, WAC #etc. and also varified thru soc sec number and DOB, which is new as earlier I was never asked for DOB, SOC Sec number etc.
Anyway, same old story. Name check is pending. The only thing he told me additionally was that the case was fine and was "flagged for approval pending name check". May be that is status they have got in the file.
He had the record that I had called up 3 weeks back. He actually told me to call again in about 30 days if case was not approved by that time. I asked him how would that help if name check would be pending. He told me that at time, the name check comes in but the case somehow is not taken up. The call will ensure that if the name check was clear, case was pushed for approval.
So, I will make next call later next month if I do not get good news by that time.

I did get a LUD on mine and my wifes 485 on 03/21/2005. No LUDs on 140!

In most of 485 approvals, there is LUD on 485 few weeks before actual approvals, which means name check results received. So, people would get RFE for more info or approval based on the name check results.

I am not sure what works in such a case except waiting for luck. You can check with INS, would not harm.

Looks like a good sign. Probably you have got the name check cleared and may see the approval soon.

My wife 485 LUDs are exactly same as mine.
I am a little worried that there is no LUD on 140

You should not worry. LUD on 485 without 140 is not bad. If the LUD is due to namecheck, you should be happy. You would most likely get 140 and 485 together.
In most of cases, at time of 140 approval, 485 is also checked. You can see from the trend that at time of 140 approval, a lot of poeple are getting either 485 approval or RFE on 485. This means 485 is also checked at that time.
For those who do not have name cleared by that time, like mine, 485 have to wait till name check comes thru.
Be relaxed. Best of luck.

BTW, gc-reqd, while you are certainly right about this thread becoming less active over time, but I would not think of it as you and lor are the ONLY ones not getting approval yet (see my note about easy cases and not-easy cases).
Good luck to you guys, and try not to spend too much time checking your status: In my case, got approved on 4/28 but didn't show on the status before the email was sent the next day.
I know, not thinking of it too much is easier said than done with so much at stake...

AFter that, we received Biometrics for my daughter (our finger printing was done in Nov 2004), and with in a week, my 140 has been approved. (3/30/2005). After that no news on 485 approval. Do you thing the LUD on Jan 13, is for Name check clearance?
