Transfer Vs Extension

Hi!

Last time I saw someone saying that for transfer and extension we have same process. Is that true.

My application is received on 10/24/03 for an extension, but it is still pending. I just tried to find my previous I129 application status and it was approved on Apr 1st.

I am not sure what is happening.

wish_140, Please check your case online OR ask your Attorney, you should get it by now, if helpappreciated got on 3/27/04 then 10 days gone, I don't think so USCIS take so long to pass two days!

Mine is still pending, so frustrating, even didnt update the procesing time on the website, it supose to be updated every 2 weeks!

My H1b extension renewal was approved on 4/8/04 (as per the online case status). Havent received the approval notice yet.

The Application receipt notice date was 11/17/03.

My and my wife's I94 expires in May 2004. Do we need to go back to India to get passports stamped with new visa ?

Well as per the rules the rEvalidation window from within Us as well as drop box in India is 2 months before expiry of stamp upto 12 months after. It really does not matter when I-94 expires only the stamp. So if ur stamp expires in May 2004 tehn you should be safely be able to aplly for stamping by Apr-May 2005.

Premium processing

Does anyone know how much does premium procssing speed up the H1B extension ? I might have to travel on work outside US in August and thinking of doing the Premium stuff.

Premium processing will take two weeks. You need to pay $1000 more. I suggest you to go for premium because general processing taking nearly 6 months.

The new processing date for H1B extension is 12/01/03.

past 180 days

Does anyone know what are the next steps if 180 days are past due from the H1B application date and if the application is still pending?

I dont want to shell out $1K immediately and go for premium processing unless its absolutely necessary. I called the INS folks and they said that they can only discuss it with my lawyer. My lawyer says all we can do is wait or apply for premium processing.

Any thoughts?

I have sent a petition for H1 renewal on August 11th 2003 , which I confirmed by checking on the web site also. But, from march onwards the website says that the petition was submitted on march 3rd 2004. I called up and spoke with my employer, they say that due to back log of work in the first center, the petition would have been moved to a new center. I am not sure whether this is okay and normal. Should I take any steps.
