RFE Processing Times

Ok so I am still not approved (big news) and there have been no changes to my last updated date since 4/28. (RFE Sent 3/25 - RFE Rec'd 4/23).

Not having anything better to do with my time (obviously) I decided to take a look at approvals in the last month and look at the average RFE Sent to APL times for cases approved in the last month on Rupnet. Excluding some outlaying data (anyone where the RFE to APL days was greater than 300) I came up with the following figures.

Average 45
Min 27
Max 62
Mode 49
Median 47

I also looked at each of these cases in Rupnet and while not everyone loads their RFE response received date, I think there is enough information to get an idea.

From the information we have 2-4 weeks between RFE recieved and APL seems like a good guess (until the real world intrudes).

User RFE Rec'd APL Date Days
Anantharavi 04/23/2004 05/03/2004 10
Joon Park 04/13/2004 05/05/2004 22
Green Waiter 04/08/2004 05/05/2004 27
tbb 04/13/2004 05/06/2004 23
attanu 04/28/2004 05/06/2004 8
Andrei 04/13/2004 04/30/2004 17
avkz 04/22/2004 05/06/2004 14
Pork Chop 04/08/2004 04/22/2004 14

Average 17
Min 8
Max 27
Mode 14
Median 16

I am presently at 47 days after RFE generation and BCIS recieved my RFE 18 days ago, by these figures I should expect to see something in the next 10 days (or 10 years). Talk about setting your self up for disapointment!

May be some other parameters Involved

I am guessing by looking at my data and others data, APL after receiving the RFE is directly dependent on your RD/ND also. I noticed people with later ND approval was delayed after receiving the RFE. My first finger print was taken on Jan 2003. So far i have not heard anything other than my RFE.

RD/ND July 2002
RFE March 2004
RFE Recvd 12th April 2004
AD ?

I Am Sure There Are Other Parameters

I am sure that there are other parameters. As sure as I am that there is no reason why my approval would have to occur in the next 10 days.

However looking at the data, there is no pattern to the RD months nore does there seem to be a EB type preference. I looked at all Rupnet cases where the AD was loaded between 5/1 and 5/10.

As I said in my post analysis is great until it has to real with the real world. 123_gc, you are at 29 days, so you have already broken my profile, but given what we are seeing I have to (want to) believe we are both close to the end!

one may discern the slightest hint of method in the madness: the wild fluctuations in the RD/ND of approved cases and the variations week to week in the number of approved cases seems to have calmed down a bit. the approvals are a little less out of turn and NSC seems to be finally getting around to finishing up 2001 cases. and while the approval stream is still pretty much a trickle, it is not all over the map.

i readily admit that the above observations are not based on any semblence of a statistical analysis, and it is scant comfort to those still waiting in the quueue. but possibly as a result of all the concerted efforts of the adjustee community at petition and litigation, or possibly the dawning on NSC of the realization that they have a slight backlog issue that they might as well deal with, things are a little better.

Rsur, can you predict my approval date? Thanks a lot.

Still waiting

ND is 04/08/02
RFE - 03/17/04
RFE Rcvd - 04/29/04
Last updated date changed after RFE Rcvd - date changed on 04/30/04 and 05/04/04
Approval - ????

Based on the pattern of date changes I am predicting that "rdil99" will see a change in 'Last Updated Date' on 05/11/04.
"rdil99" it would be great if you can update with your status.

My prediction is based on the pattern I have been observing - The last updated date changes on Your RFE Rcvd date, Next immediately the day after RFE Rcvd and the 3rd update is four days later.

gcwait4ever, I didn't see any update to my case after the first 2 updates on the second day after USCIS received my RFE response. Any thoughts?

What does it mean by "Dates Updated"

ND:08.23.2002
RFE:04.05.2004

Please let me know what is the meaning of this dates updated  that all you guys have been chating about. I have received my RFE and my lawyer has send it in the first week of may. My online status has not yet changes. I am a little worried about that, but am holding on.

Also what is this USCIS email that you guys are talking about. Is there some place that I can register to get email updates :confused:from USCIS.

Thanks for your help.

Even my last updated date has changed in the same way. First on RFE recvd date, then a day after and then after 4 days. Though, I don't know what has happened that is causing these updates.

When does the status change when RFE is received

Thanks Paulclarke1 for the response.

My lawyer mailed the RFE response on May04. My status has not yet changed. Today is May11. Is this normail or should the status have changed.
