Hello All,

I got the 3 option letter and my attorney decided to run one day Ad in a local news paper. My company is located in Menlo Park, CA and I am not sure which news paper would be best for this. (Attornies are located in the east coast and they have no clue what kind of news papers are available in this area)

Any suggestions?

San Jose Mercury News costs a lot to run an ad like this.

Palo Alto Daily News is very cheap, but this is a free news paper. Does it matter?

If we do receive any responses for this ad, what will happen?

thanks

Hello Tony
Thats is so frustrating. I've been trying to get it last
5 years. When I get the labor a lay off will come.
So to move 2 months they will take 2 years?
Gosh! what these people are doing there?

code 030

Agree! Dot 031/032 are definitely slower....But many 031/032 from later dates such as 01/28/2003 RD are processed/certified.......

So I am trying to conclude if DOL is sending more 3 option letters to 031/032 cases and hence it still shows received in AVM.... I hope this is what they are not doing....but just another line of thought....

any idea about 030 code?

No PERM implementation in sight

# Permanent Labor Certification Backlog Reduction Regulation: This regulation, after the 90-day review by the OMB, was cleared by the OMB quite sometime back, but the agency (U.S. Department of Labor) is delaying release of this regulation for the unknown reasons. Reportedly, the Directors of the Backlog Reduction Centers have been offered the jobs and the contractors have been selected, but the rule-making process that specifies the procedures, standards, and qualification has yet to be completed. No one knows why.
# PERM Final Regulation for Reengineered Labor Certification System: There was practically no other reform which frustrated the immigrant community as much as this reform. It took over four years and is still in limbo. After all the hurdles, the agency finally forwarded the final rule to the OMB on February 23, 2004, but at the last minute of the 90-day review period, the agency requested the OMB to extend the approval of the regulation for the reasons that the DOL faced some different views from other related agencies, assumedly the department of state and the DHS. The OMB thus extended its review beyond May 21, 2004. Without revision, the OMB should have completed the regulation review within ten days after that. But apparently, the DOL revised the regulation to accomodate the views and comments from the related agencies, allowing more time to the OMB to complete the review. Extended review has already taken approximately two months and there is still no light at the end of the tunnel.

My friend
My attorney put 3 ads in month apart and then an internet ad altogether
4 months and applied. For californin at present time you need atleast
2 years for labor cert. So be sure that you will have 3-4 years work
with present employeer.
good luck

Hi sbabunle,
I think your case should get reviewed in a month or two.
--
Here is my recent analysis of the LC processing at SFO for the cases from "remainder" of Western states (leaving CA)
--
On 1-JUL-04 they were processing cases received in Oct 2003.
On 8-JUL-04 they were processing cases received in Nov 2003.
On 19-JUL-04 they are processing cases received in Dec 2003.
--
This information is compiled by recording the information collected from AVM ( 415.975.4617, press 1, press 1)
--
If they process like this, you will be hearing some news within few weeks.
--
Keep your fingers crossed :)

My company (employer) was sold :(

Hi friends,
My company (employer) has been sold!!!

12 yrs old, $15M turn over (it used to be), Located CA, has branches in NJ and IL (sleeping branch), typical desi Body shopping company, around 100 employees. So many successful GC processing, etc.

I don't know the details of the buyer. My GC is in Labor (CA, Transferred to DOL on Aug 2003). I cannot switch my employer since I’m in my 6th year. Do I have to worry about this transition? Will it affect my GC processing?

Thanks in advance.

Processing dates for other than CA in western states

Yes. You are right.
My company is located in phoenix.
2 weeks week back, we received 2 certificactions for the cases which went to DOL in 10/2003. Earlier I though that it is some fluke case.
After seeing your posting I realized the processing dates are different from CA and other western states.

Hi Endless Wait,
Please give me some more details to get the data from AVM.
I called 415.975.4617, pressed 1, pressed 1
But unless I know many case numbers or company ph no from non CA state, I can't get the data.
Please let me know how did you find out that dec 2003 case processed on July 19th 2004.
Thanks in advance
Nirvan
