Processing time for green card based on asylum

hi everyone. My friend got an interview for his green card. His asylum case is already approved a year ago. during the interview, the interviewer said that since you came here on a fiance visa (k1) and then changed it to asylum it needs to be reviewed by their lawyer and told him that he should wait for at least 120 more days so they can review his case. Does anyone have any experience regarding this matter or any advice?

just to clarify i never said i can't afford it  to me it's waste of money because you'll get it eventually anyway
Haha, it's never a waste of money when it pertains to immigration or healthcare in this nation!!! You might end up waiting an additional 6-10 months to receive your Green Card, which would push back your path to citizenship. So, if I can return on time, I would still pay that the money to expedite my Green Card process!!! Don’t be cheap when it comes to immigration because the time you could spend waiting could stretch into more months or even a full year of your life!

Expect more of things like that is with the next administration

ASYLEE 11 if you can remember my field office sent my case to LosAngles asylum office for post asylum eligibility review after my field office i485 interview in 2021, then LosAngles asylum told my congressman that the case is with LosAngles asylum office for Post-Asylum Eligibility Review and we are not able to inform how much time it will take to complete the review
Now from uscis info pass inquiry at 1800 275 5283 in August 2024 the lady told me some one will call me for update then a guy called me in October 2024 from area code (202) and told me over the phone I will best forward your case to the office where your case is which is LosAngles asylum office.

Yesterday I got a letter from LosAngles asylum office with following response

The status of this service request is

Thank you for your inquiry.
The LosAngles asylum office does not adjudicate i485. Therefore, we are not able to provide you with information pertaining to processing of form i485 or status. Please contact your field office.

Actually some are telling me that it's because LosAngles asylum office has completed my review they are asylum office not i485 adjudication office that will be field office.
"Important" Please if you can refer to my post #4064, that may explain, so it may be a good or bad news or just another anecdotal uscis issue.

true but depends on your reasons to rush this. I personally don't see a difference between a green card and citizenship. I am not planning on ever going back to my home country and with a green card you can travel and work in the US. that's all i need haha
However, not everyone has the same mentality, so they should consider your way :)

I am planning to apply for green card after approval however would like to wait couple months to reduce the risk of early approval, my spouse would like to take risk and apply before me, is it possible to apply different time? Note that I’m main applicant of the case, do you guys think it is good idea to apply separately?

Hello,

One of my friend filing his I-485 application and need help regarding the question in Criminal Record section: “Have you EVER been arrested, cited, charged, or detained for any reason by any law enforcement official?”

He was arrested in home country by political influence , they kept him police station few hours and released. No arrest recorded and no charges. It was also mentioned in asylum application and declaration.

He should answer “Yes” in my I-485 application? and provide an explanation in the additional information section or Do we need to write a cover letter?
Does anyone have a similar situation?

You need to ask a lawyer man or someone knows his case! There is no general answer for this kind of question as it’s no joke!

Writing yes would be safer because if you said no it may be considered lying. But you can explain it or talk to a lawyer.

Haha, it's amusing when people who are completely unaware of the situation express their views based on nothing at all! Hey, did you realize that if he answers yes, it could significantly prolong his citizenship background check? It might add another year, if not more. So if he can legally say no, that would be the best option, but saying no could also raise concerns about fraud. The smartest move would be to consult an attorney who can understand his circumstances and provide sound judgment, because sometimes an arrest that isn’t linked to criminal charges isn’t classified as a real arrest! To sum it up, he needs legal representation, not just our opinions, and it's important to be cautious when giving advice to others in the future.

Thank you. Is it okey to travel to canada by road while pending GC.
i think you still need visa as long as you don't have GC!! believe it or not i flew to there with GC and RTD and all i did was scanning the RTD at the airport and i didn't meet any officer asking me about my GC but that doesn't mean the general case with everyone so if you don't have GC i suggest you apply for visa to be in the safe side.
