Processing time for green card based on asylum

Why from the start did he put himself in something like that! Why go COP before becoming a US citizen!!!! Very wrong decision no matter what was the emergency but nothing deserves this risk!
Returning to COP is v bad scene but don’t worry what ever mean to happen will happen nothing to worry too much about this

Hello all, i need sme guidance on medicals for the i-485, what vaccines are compulsory or does it depend on the doctor sending your report , your health status

Im now on 120 days after uscis received my rfe medical exam and still no update :( is this normal what can i do ? They received it august 6 2024
i'm 90 days and i don't think they have any process. some people get their GCs within 2 weeks after they submit RFEs and some (like us haha) wait. I am going to reach out to congressman after new year, but for now will wait :(

It happened with me they made me wait 5 months after medical RFE and got no response so i had to sue them at the court and 40 days later they sent me my GC!

Hello, everyone,

Recently, my case was approved. My attorney recommended filing my I-485 immediately because, once Trump returns to office, they might implement significant delays for all cases. Attorney suggested it’s better to speed up the application process now to avoid losing my spot in the waiting queue.

What do you guys think? Is it a good idea to apply now, or should I wait a few months?

I read here about denials and also about GC with date of issue before approval date when USCIS adjudicates I-485 earlier than 1 year.
From 2 December you must file I-693 with I-485 so you can’t stretch time with RFE anymore.
So ask your lawyer what he/she will do in this case? If denial then you will need to pay 1440 per person again and wait from the start. I am not sure that lawyer will pay this fee out of her/his pocket. Even if yes, you will lose time.
If approval date before asylum approval then you will spend time and nerves trying to send it back to correct it.
Speaking about possible delays after Trump you will still have possibility for Mandamus after 1 year of waiting.
Also USCIS has target 6 months. So I think it is safe to apply after 6-7 months after asylum approval
If anybody has different information you are welcome to comment this

I paid $4500 for an attorney but if you have time and patience, you can look it up and do it yourself but it's not an easy process at all
Sueing the government doesn't sound that nice or cheap :( i think i'll wait but good to know that it's an option. Thanks

Yeah if you can’t afford it don’t do it on your own cause it’s complicated process needs an attorney but the successful rate is high

My attorney also advised to file immediately which I did. It is exactly one year and 15 days today and I am still waiting.

Your attorney helped you to file your i-485 application, or you just did it yourself?
Also, I assume you sent your medical along with your application or sent later?
I received my approval last month, what do you suggest for me?

Hello, I applied for asylum and after one month got my interview in Feb and yesterday my case changed to Decision was mailed .
Anyone in the same position ? I am nervous wreck.

No I did it myself, and yes I filed medical along with my application. I think everyone should decide based on their own situation. It is a 50-50 risk. I was willing to take the risk to make my process faster even if it meant having to pay the fee again.

You should see how important it is for you to risk and if you are comfortable to pay the fee again just in case they process it faster.

Whatever you decide to do, I wish you all the best of luck.

I expect that you have been approved... If the interview is in February... It means that you have almost been approved... Hopefully, you will receive the email soon.

EXPECT APPROVAL? in which case you talking about? most likely if fees were waived doesn't pops up before decision was mailed means 70% it's a referral to the court so how did you get that he is approved??

Hello all, I am hoping to hear from any asylee who had the case sent to "post asylum eligibility review" after I-485 interview, please reply if you can. Thanks.

Thank you so much for the information.
I am ready to lose the filing fee if they process my application faster.
I assume there won’t be any downside.
Also, my attorney said, new administration will slow down all the applications, so it’s better to apply now and wait in the queue.
