Processing time for green card based on asylum

And I asked lawyer and she said that it’s ok to use national passport of COP with GC for travels (the only restriction is not to come back to COP) and RTD is only necessary while waiting for GC. Can anybody confirm this?
If this is true then RTD is not necessary because waiting time for RTD and GC is approximately the same (more than 1 year). Is that correct?
Using your national passport with a Green Card (GC) is generally okay for travel, but avoid returning to your country of persecution (COP). RTD processing can take 3-15 months, so plan accordingly.

Thank you! My friend is getting married in Buenos Aires in April'25, so want to understand how I can travel there and if I get a GC can I still use the same Travel Doc!
If you are traveling with your Refugee Travel Document you will need a visa. Make sure you don’t have any stops because that country would require another visa too. I am pretty sure all countries in South America require a visa if you’re traveling with Travel Documents (I am Brazilian myself and I know them pretty well).

Thank you! I need to look that up and apply just in case. Better to be safe :) hope everyone will get their RTDs soon :)

Hi all.
Can the court make USCIS backdate a GC by 5 years through mandamus to compensate for the 9 years delay in decision after asylum interview?
Has anyone heard of such a thing or done it?

No, I am serious unfortunately.
There is nothing like that! The USA owes you nothing it’s a privilege to be here not right so they don’t care if you was waiting for 3 or even 20 years they didn’t tell you please please come stay in america nope you’re asylee and you the one asked them to let you stay here to be safe so which right you want?! They owe you nothing

Asylum seekers have rights too and they cannot be just ignored or kept in limbo forever.

Not really! Trump before withdrew from the refugee settlement program! If anyone not ready to stay years in america to be a citizen then they can go somewhere else again it’s a privilege to be here not your right as your wife didn’t sponsor you or son or anyone who makes it a right for you to be here so you can’t ask them for anything but to be thankful

We are not talking about refugee.

Hello! I know probably this have been talked here but I just want to make sure. I have my GC by political asylum, I want to travel just for tourism, it is possible to enter in Argentina with Travel Document? (I am planning to apply if I can enter there with this document) I don't want to use my passport because I don't know if is negative for my re entry. If anyone have done this (travel and re entry after use their own passport please let me know). I just want to make the things right :) thanks!
