Processing time for green card based on asylum

I asked because I see lots of postings regarding RTD travel concerns on this very thread. Also, this is not my first time discussing this topic. I have been getting pretty good advises on this topic in the past also.
I just found another Thread on this forum that talks about RTD Travel related concerns. I will use that thread for these RTD travel questions. Thanks!

Stayed 8 months after They received my rfe. My Last action is make USCIS infopass last month. I go to USCIS field office couple weeks ago and asking about my case.
Everything i do to make faster my case except writ a mandamus because I don’t want spent a lot money.
You can file Writ of Mandamus as ProSe for $600 to $1000

My case was also pending since October 2020. It was in a black hole of USCIS. I could never get any updates. So pls find an attorney and do Mandamus. My attorney told me that he is doing mandamus for someone who is waiting for her GC for 6 years.
Do not save money on that! I regret I did not do it earlier.
totally agreed, do not wait to file writ of mandamus

Also Guys! Has any October 2020 filers gotten their GC? It's been almost 3 years now. I just got RFE for Medical.
lol lots of folks got RFE for medicals, but these xxxxx and the worst federal agency called USCIS ARE sleeping on us!!! xxxxxx

unfortunately they have a lot of backlog from before 2021 and 2022 because of COVID, government shutdown, lack of funding, and understaffing :( thousands of applications remain pending in the MSC21 (and even late MSC20 range), and they're processing hundreds of those per day, evidenced in the trackers, in addition to processing MSC23. At least it's good news for people waiting for more than 2 and 3 years. I hope this helps with the patience and anxiety and puts things in perspective. I really hope it works out for you asap but I hope you keep thinking and feeling positive and optimistic and that it's just a matter of ridiculous backlog and overcrowding in their pipeline :) <3
much love to you and to all of you here! :D

i understand but my point is you know what RFE MEDICAL mean? I mean the medical not TAXES OR MARRIAGE CERTFICATES and things like that for other GC Categories which takes time to look and review their evidence but for the medical it means an officer already opened your file and adjusted it and was about to sign on the approval space but then boom he/she didn't find the i-693 so they couldn't approve it until they send you RFE and receive it so the thing that driving me crazy why the heck does it even take more than 4-5 days to approve the case???? they should first finish the cases with RFE received before they even adjust new cases!! i see people with medical RFE got approved in few hours while others days while other months and it's all weird cause medical RFE again means the case is already adjusted so they only need to check on the I-693 and that's it!!! thanks a lot for your participation on here though!! appreciate it

You’re definitely right to be frustrated, like so many others. I totally get it.

Unfortunately the officer who requests the RFE is also working on so many other applications and the process is not linear. I don’t think they simply put the file on the side and directly go back to it when they receive the evidence. They have so many other things to do and so many things compound every day so it’s not that easy to just go back to 1 application as if it’s the only one they have. It’s not like that’s the only application they are focusing on.

Each officer is looking at so many applications and so many other applications are like yours: on hold and “reopened” or put aside. All this while the officer is also receiving so many new applications and evidence and documents from others on a daily basis.

It’s very easy to assume that each officer should be working just on our case or that it’s so simple, but unfortunately it’s not true and I wish it were! :( i am really only saying this because I don’t want you to feel frustrated or anxious because the process doesn’t make sense for you. I really hope I am helping hehe :) :) this said, please stay hopeful and I definitely hope you’ll get it asap!

thanks, but yeah they put the files on the side :D that's the truth as it's already adjusted and the interview was waived but anyway hopefully, we all hear good news soon!! sooner or later we will get our green cards it's just matter of time!
