You don't need RTD after green card, you can use your own passport.Hopefully yes and after you get done with the GC you struggle again to get RTD after 12-14 months if not more lol god bless the USCIS hmm the most professional agency in this country lol
What you saying here is so dangerous! Stop please cause they can mess up everything after all of these years while you get go through the citizenship process in few years ! Talk about urself and your situation not all the asylees cause lots of asylees here are political asylees so they have issues with their COP and it’s government so how in the world you can get passport or use it from a country that you asked for a protection from it! Maybe you got asylum based on religious basis or maybe something else i don’t know but for political asylees or anyone mentioned issues with their home countries government then no chance to use your home country passport! To the custom I send both my own passport and RTD and everything good, only point is to not going back home country. Don't panic people with bullshit.
That's not true,I know so many people who use their own passport too, even the lawyer recommended to use. I don't know where you get that but it doesn't exist like that. Asylum status is same, political, religious. What you saying here is so dangerous! Yeah yeah that’s why all asylees apply for RTD ! Give me one legit attorney will tell their client go use your home country passport! You either a troll or you have no idea about the immigration and laws! Again if the asylee mentioned any problem with their home country government then no chance to use their home country passport ! Any other talks are just BSThat's not true,I know so many people who use their own passport too, even the lawyer recommended to use. I don't know where you get that but it doesn't exist like that. i agree with you on everything except that an CPI officer can reject you from entering the U.S which is not true at all !!! no one can revoke your green card or asylum status at the airport it could only happen by an immigration judge! I tried to explain to him that we all have different cases and different grounds, but he was denying that so i had to tell him that's not true cause maybe a newbie asylee browse this forum and see his post and believe it.@Bumfuzzle @Asylee11 @Niko992
we are here to educate ourselves and not start flames. respect each other please!
each case is different and each person won asylum based on different grounds that's why the need for a travel document varies.
for some people a travel document is a MUST since either their passport is expired, traveling with asylum status or it's dangerous to use their passport for political reasons.
for others who won asylum for reasons like religion and not specific to you only rather than a general group they can use their own passport if they are traveling with a green card and NOT returning to their home country. of course not spending more than 6 months out of the states.
we all can agree that traveling outside the United States weather you are an asylee or a green card holder THERE ARE ALWAYS RISKS. an officer simply can reject your entry if he was suspicious of you. doesn't even matter if you have a travel document or not. so what matters is you being genuine and having a solid case then you have nothing to worry about.
always ask a lawyer of course to find the BEST option for YOUR specific case
we are not here to spread false information or advice someone to do something that worked for you because again it might not work for them.
we give information to get a general idea only
yes of course there are not gonna ship you back xD I just meant going through CBP and lengthy questioning process plus you might need a lawyer etc etc if they suspected anything.i agree with you on everything except that an CPI officer can reject you from entering the U.S which is not true at all !!! no one can revoke your green card or asylum status at the airport it could only happen by an immigration judge! long story short, we all know that RTD IS the safest option for all of us no matter what!
The problem is not the CBP lol most of them I swear don’t even know the difference between the Green card categories!! Last time i gave the officer my RTD and she was like why you visiting the U.S i got shocked and i was like hey i live here and then she said yeah I’m sorry then she told me RTD holders need to go through second inspection which took 10 mins ! The main problem will likely happen when you go to the neutralization interview cause that officer is aware of everything about your immigration history and how you got your GC and he/she already read all the files they have for you on the system so it could go easily or tough! Depends on your luck. So no risks worth it after going through this long journey for yearsyes of course there are not gonna ship you back xD I just meant going through CBP and lengthy questioning process plus you might need a lawyer etc etc if they suspected anything.
damn , that's stupid I would crack up if that happened to me xDThe problem is not the CBP lol most of them I swear don’t even know the difference between the Green card categories!!
