Processing time for green card based on asylum

It took me 12 months and it will expire in 6 months in August!!! But I already applied for renewal since last October so that i can get a new one 2-3 months only after my current one expires!! You should have applied for renewal long time ago cause until they look at your application your current RTD would be expired
I used to do that before, but they used to return my application since the RTD is not close to expiring. I have one pending now. But it still takes longer than before. And the RTD is good only for European countries. They will give you a hard time in Turkiye already, not talking about the rest of the world. I just have to get surgery in Istanbul and have to stay there for a while. The last time I was there, I barely made it to the plane with RTD.

That’s right unfortunately:( i only go Europe and things are fine but I’m going Morocco soon so hopefully they don’t give me hard time while boarding back to the states! Endless nightmare but we have no other options

hey everyone, was wondering if anyone knows if you can travel outside US to a third country with only Asylee green card? Has anyone traveled like that? I ve been seeing articles about having to have a travel document even after getting a green card to travel abroad. Thank you!

If you got your green card through asylum, yes, you need a travel document to reentry the country.

No, if you are an asylee who has been granted a green card, you do not need to use a Refugee Travel Document to travel outside the United States. As a green card holder, you are free to travel using your green card as a form of identification and travel document.

However, if you do not have a passport from your home country, you may need to apply for a travel document in order to travel internationally.

Congratulations!! Was your case with national benefits center (msc) or a field office?

I was wondering if mogulnew had their case with MSC or a field office
You wouldn’t know which office your case will be processed at and there is no clear information on operation of asylum base green card . I spent a lot of times to understand but still have no idea . I think texas service center and Nebraska no longer receive asylum base application .all application go to national benefit center (MSC) they do initial processing , and then they distribute cases around maybe to the smaller field office . But where no one knows , please share if you have further information

Yes i think the same, i was just trying to hack the code of if ombudsman helps with MSC cases since my case with MSC and ombudsman rejected my inquiry today sating that i need to wait full 37 months before inquiring assistance per processing times, and i applied on nov 2020…
