Called IIO today

Looks like INS is sending RFEs to all those whose cases got delayed b\'cos of FP bungling!

Just to update you folks, I sent response to the RFE and the AVM does acknowledge that they received our response. Needless to say, they have NOT assigned an officer to look at my RFE response.

Now to the point on the subject line: I called an IIO today and asked about my FP. I was surprised to hear her response. She asked me to write a letter to INS requesting for FP. When I told her that I am verbally asking/requesting her *NOW* to send the FP, her response is that I needed to write a letter. Don\'t they just love the paperwork!!!

Has anybody got a similar response on FPs???

I received Senator Gordon Smith\'s response regarding FP. INS just told him that they sent RFE to me. that\'s the end of it. I\'m still working on my RFE. It took my company a week to get Employment verification letter and i\'m waiting for my manager to write a supplement letter with job description. i\'m so anxious to send RFE...

Good to hear from you. I also talked to IIO last week. He siad that they have sent my I485 file to make connection with I140.(Whatever that means). So again waiting continues. I think NSC has really screwed up as far as efficiency goes.

Can we do FP before scheduled date?

I got the FP notice and am just thinking to get FP before scheduled date. IS it possible at portland office? Can we just walk-in and get it done? Anbody have this type of experience. I knew INS portland office gives walk-in tickets, but is it possible to use it for FP?

Thanks.I haven\'t checked AVM yet, as I haven\'t yet replied RFE. Last I checked AVM it says about RFE. I will be posting my RFE in copule of days. I will keep you updated about the progress.
 
Yes you can give your FP earlier

FP office & INS office are two different offices. Go when there is mimimum or no crowd for FP. If there are many people then they will not take you fp.
 
another portland guy got FP done on 3/14. when\'s our turn?

I found out today that my former co-worker who filed in 4/01 got his FP done on 3/14.

Just heard - me, my husband and our daughter got approval

RD: 03/28/2001
ND: 04/13/2001
FP: 03/08/2002
AD: 03/28/2002

We didn\'t recieve I-485 reciepts, FP notice was way too late, AVM never changed (except for dates). Luckily when it changed it changed for good.

Although we didn\'t contribute much.. this site has been very helpul for clarifications. Keep it up and good luck.

   Yesterday I received my FP notice. It was scheduled on 05/04/02 at INS, PORTLAND,OR office. My wife still didn\'t get her FP notice.

Any one from PORTLAND area got their FP done prior to FP scheduled date?

PORTLAND-OR, did you get a chance to go INS, PORTLAND for your early FP? What is the best day and time to go and get the early FP done at the local INS in portland ??

Any one from PORTLAND, OR , if you are done with early FP, please post your experience.

Hi, everyone,

I just checked the AVM message and found out that my case had been approved today (April 2, 2002). My wife\'s case was approved on the same day. I\'m now waiting for the approval notice.

A friend of mine in Portland got his approval (NSC RD: 05/2001) a couple of days earlier. It seems to me that Portlanders are finally getting approvals.

FP scheduled for 5/14. Don\'t why it has to be scheduled so far out. I wonder if we can go there before that date. The FP notice date is 3/28/02. What\'s yours GC_portlander?

AVM updated after they received my RFE response. The message says something like: "On .... we receive your response to RFE..... Since the preliminary work for this case is done, it is taking 330 days to process this kind of case....." So, i guess the only thing that they are waiting for is the FP.
