The RFE was for two items:

6 months pay stubs
Employment letter

Surprising, they did not ask for W2 or tax returns !
I had all the documents but more documents mean more head ache.

This is what my RFE is for.

"Submit an original letter on company letterhead from your prospective employer who filed Form I-140/I-360 on your behalf stating their continued interest in hiring you, duties to be performed, and remuneration."

I have yet to send the response.
 
There is a posting on rupnet by user RPC1. He had RFE on 5/5 and approved on 5/27. Great !!!!

Hi,

My case was just approved. The online status changed between 2pm - 20 pm.

I called this morning, and the IIO said the case is not assigned yet, but he will write a note to the supervisor about this case.

Now, it is approved. So it is very useful to call the IIO.

Below is the case status:

RD 11/15/2001
ND 12/07/2001
FP 04/11/02

RFE issued Marh 31, 2003
RFE received April 21, 2003
AD: May 29, 2003.

just the right thing we are looking for. approval after 3 (business) days of rfe response received??? cool.
 
It takes about one week for BCIS to update the online message once the RFE reply is sent out.

RFE issused on 4/24/03 about name change
RFE sent out 5/23/03
RFE received by BCIS 5/28/03 (based on online message)

RD: 11/23/01

I wish I can hear something within one month.

is no such time frame for bcis to update the online message..mine was updated within one day of receipt of RFE response!!:)

Could u explain more about your RFE ( about name change)??. u mean after filing I-485, did u change your name?

I changed my name just by myself without legal process. I filed I-485 using my new name. Since it doesn't match with the old name on passport, INS sent out a RFE requesting legal evidence for the name change. I went to local court and got my name changed officially and sent back a court order to INS.

The reason I asked for is, my My friend used the correct name as in passport for LC and I-485. But while applying I-140, the lawyer typed the first name as last name and vice versa and I-140 was approved. (wondering how??). He was worrying to get RFE for that.

Will it be a problem to receive RFE??
