I read the message you recieved back from DOL. Usually one gets that message when there is "syntax problem with mail" or "case is not in their system".
Philly DOL had entered cases into their system within a week in past. They might be lagging behind these day's with increased # of applications.
Regarding calling Philly DOL, don't tell your employer. I haven't seen or met any employer who will be happy to know about it (unless you guy's are very close). If you are planning to check your status with Philly DOL make sure they don't even get a hint that you are an employee. Call them as if you are employer.
