You'll need to get the notice for the I-140 -- I asked my lawyer for copies of these so I could get the numbers.

since u have filed under EB2, u need to have patience. although there are less cases under EB2, USCIS is relatively slow in processing EB2 cases than EB3. What u might have seen as EAD approval for ur date, its quite possible that those are EB3 or some other misc. cases. my only advise would be to have patience. or u can go for I-EAD.

Misc. EAD information
Just FYI, I received my EAD card in the mail yesterday. It was approved on 02/06 so it took 6 days for the card to show up (VSC obviously).
Also, I didn't have to do FP (fingerprinting) for this EAD (my first one, requested at the same time that I-140 / I-485 was filed). My understanding is that this can be the case for first or even 2nd EADs but that at some point I'd likely have to do FP, maybe when I renew my EAD (probably in about 6 months just to play it safe).

The source of this information is at http://www.immigrationwatch.com/ but unfortunately they don't show the last 4 digits for some reason. I'm not sure why -- one could manually get these by trying numbers in order if one really wanted to. There's also a tool for doing this automatically that I came across earlier (you give it a range of numbers and it iterates through the USCIS site using that range).
That site (immigrationwatch) is pretty cool btw -- it does a statistical analysis to give you an idea of when you might be approved (much better than the stuff I did earlier <g>).

My ND is Dec5th 2003 for all my 140/485 process. Today, when I was checking my status online - I found out that they mailed me requesting an additional evidence. I am curious and waiting for my lawyer to get back to know what is that about. Hope it should be a minor issue. Any thoughts?

Thats good sign that they are processing DEC 5... because my RD date is same... Usually it is related to the W2 and companies tax returns... if u havent submitted w2 for last 3 year have them ready.. I would recommend having tax returns and w2 for last three years...
Can u pls post the case number .. I would like to compare it with my number

Qn regarding B1 extension
This is a bit off the topic but thought your collective knowledge might be useful. My father came here on a B1 visa and his I-94 was till Jan 15 2004. We applied for an extension of stay on Dec 15th 2003 and have received the receipt notice. We have recd. no further notification. In the meanwhile my dad wants to go back sooner than planned. Will his stay be considered as overstay if he goes back now?

When u filled for extension u should have sent the orignal I-94..if you havent then they will reject it. No matter what u need valid I-94 to avoid any issues when u r father trying to depart US.
We applied for extension for my parents and go an approval after 4 months....
to be pricise if u have valid I-94 u can leave any time and send letter to cancel the application .. if not wait for the aproval or rejection..
