The reduction centers are not specifically for these regions, they will just be located there, they will take cases from all over the country.

I have posted some notes on this before.

On the last ammendment of the RFP, answers to questions from the companies that were proposing, one of the answers stated that they were to process in the order in which cases were received. This leads me to believe that NY will actually be one of the first states to be addressed since, NY and perhaps a couple more are still stuck in April 2001

then it will be somewhat goodnews as per justwatching..
but those centers have to speedup the work and takeout those april 2001 from NY area so that our cases can be started ASAP...
dont know what to say now...just waiting for our desires to happen correctly...
 
Thanks Justwatching , but as you posted before, that got delayed until early next year as far as i remember ? is that correct ?
 
RFP's are due back Dec 12th

They are planning to award the contract in the 1st qtr of 2004 (let's assume March 1st)

60 days later they would need to start to operate. So somewhere around May 1st.

So assuming that their latest estimates of finishing April 30th next spring, this effort would help process the remaining backlog faster.

its really sucks man..its very slow..even though we are paying all the taxes and federal and etc still we are behind those illegal people... they have to maintain a stream of lines man one for leagal lca and another for 254(i)..
i dont know when we'll come out of this big mountain climbing man..i am really depressed and dont know what to do..i'll be completing 6 years this december eventhough i have 7th year extension..you never know what happens about job market man...just expecting good to happen to all of us...

This is the question of all questions , when is the April 30th load will be done, I am sorry for all of us but we all in the same boat and lets hope that market pick up and economy go quickly up so we can be in better condition until these issue is gone and lets pray that some one in NY government or Labor dept hear us and think in as as humans not files and numbers.
 
Feedback on H1B 7th year extension !!(Sucessful)

I am posting this here since I am also a victim of NY DOL delays. I wanetd to give my experience at the toronto embassy during my chnage of status from L1 to H1 so that it can help some one who is seeking the 7th year extension based on a pending LC.

Scheduled interview at toronto for the H1 stamping. I have completed 5 years on my L1. Took the original Masters Degree,transcripts, pay stubs and I797A and other DS 156 and 157 forms. Thats it.

My attorney screwed up on the application form about my date of entry to US and green card application. The first question was about that and I was stright forward and gave him the right dates and apologised for the mistake my attorney made ( I could have done a better job than my attorney). He asked me why I am leaving my current job. I told him I am still working for the same company and it is only a change from L1 to H1. Then he asked me why I am doing this. I told him my Labour certification has been filed and it is pending (famous NY DOL) for more than a year. In order to renew my visa I have to do this since L1 is not extendable. He was not sure of this and went to clarify with some one and came back and said I was right. He asked me to show some docs which will support my claim about the application to Labour dept and if I have it, he will give me the visa until 2006 if not it is only up to 2005 since I will max my six years period. I told him NY DOL does not send any receipts for the applications. However I had the copies of my application with the US certified mail showing that it was received by NY DOL. I had to come back to hotel to get them and submit again. My visa was approved until 2006, which means I got the 7th year extension already and collected my passport next day.

Even though the officer took time and verified all my docs with extra care, he was very logical and not rude at all. I hope this feedback helps.

yes ahalem..i am with you on this one..we have to pray so that those guys know our problems and do something so that we can come out of that april 2001...just hope for the good thing to happen all of us..

Online Petition

I guess sending letters to Labor and NY/NJ reps. is all dead. I did mentioned in this thread that we put a petition online.
I am in process of puting this letter as online petition and gather signatures and then send it to bunch of media, agencies and politicians,

Help me refine this to make it a broader appeal without losing the actual focus of highlighting issues.

Site is www.petitiononline.com I have done the required research once we all agree on this letter i will post it to the site and copy the URL here.

Then we spread the word and get thousands of signatures, YES thousands ....... and then submit
 
This is very good idea eastwest but why would we go to new letter , finalizing the first one took almost month from us and JustWatching did great efford there
 
I dont know why do you view the cumulative efforts put towards writing the letter and posting them to the big guys in NY. You will see atleast some response or atleast some directions for where to hit. Again , it has improved the confidence in us to proceed for big things to happen to convey them we are not happy.

Coming to your point , yes we can set the petion here also . The point we have to hit these NY DOL guys wherever they can hear us.

Please let us know once the petition is set up. I am responsible for atleast 100 signatures.

keep it up guys and good that Rajiv Khanna is helping us in our fight..we just hope that monica contact ahalem ASAP so that we can put petition..we have to do this one way back..its okay..still now is also fine
now something is going on ..please common ny folks please come and participate in our struggle ....someone will come and help us ..to get rid of this april 2001 mountain...
its okay east west..eventhough you made a good documet..we can use both to send to other people also....
 
Re: RIR rejected in NY, now what?

Did any body saw simlar cases to Maxie case ? where applied after April 2001 and got reviewed by NY Labor ?
