I am sorry to deviate all to different issue. My friend desperately need all gurus advice on this problem. One of my friend recently came to US on H1B visa. His name is correct in I797, visa stamp and all H1B related docs. When he applied for SSN, he got wrong name on SSN. When he intimate SSN authorities they informed him that they got this name (wrongly spelled name) from USCIS. Whatever H1B visa related docs he has are with correct name. I am not understanding from where these SSN guys get this name. He do not understand what to do? Any of you guys face like this problem? I appreciate if you guys advice me what measures to take rectify this? Thanks in advance.

Here is my sugestion to your friend: take an appointment with a local SS office, personally visit them and show your passport and H1 visa to them.
They can not use a wrong name just because USCIS suggested. It is just unsonstitutional.

Finally

Processing rate

SlowLC said:
It is hard to figure out the processing rate. It looks like they randomly picked cases from their case piles. For example, today, I found two cases received on 05/04/2004, 02506919 (dot 210.382-014) and 02506924 (dot 030.062-010), were updated on Aug. 16. But there had nothing happened to handful cases I traced around Apirl 28.

It is about 26 cases/per business day.

Help anyone?

Hi gurus,

My regional case number is 02507339 and it was received on May 13th 2004 - can anyone of you project as to when my case will be worked upon?

Thanks again for all the info here - the one bright thing in this dismal process...Roni

Hi Roni,

Usually, I randomly pick several cases to figure out which range of cases they are working at. Today, I found two cases certified on 08/26, which are 02507046 and 02507054. Both of them are not 030.162-014. I also found that nothing happened to some cases received on 04/28.

I guess they would work on your case at least two weeks later based on my estimated 26cases/per day. Or you could be luck that they pick your cases earlier, like some 05/04 cases. I also wish that someone might have a long long summer vacation, now it would be the time they come back to double or triple the processing rate.

Good Luck!

what is DOT Code

Folks, what is the significance of DOT code. Do these digits means that case is RIR or normal processing? Can someone explain me all three set of 3 digit seperated with dots.
Thanks

Re:

Hi SlowLC - thanks for the info - I have been banging the avm number with random queries too - looks like they do not have a strict pattern of handling cases - or maybe the case numbers are not handled in the strict order that they have been assigned...I checked thru to 02507045...anyhoo I guess I will have to sit and wait and sit and wait and sit and wait and....and yes, I hope your theory on the summer vacation is good - at least they will have their behinds moving!
