New York Regional DOL Tracker

Ok - bad news

I tracked the number of cases approved by regional NY from 07/16/04 to 08/12/04 ----- almost a full month

---

And the magical number is.....

239 cases -

yes, believe it - it is not a joke - 239 cases for the entire month.

But don't worry - I think until 2045 we will have the entire queue processed. Do you know if grandkids can receive a LC as part of your state?

In 7 to 10 days.

What is a Code no ?

Guys ... please tell me what is a Code No ?
Is this number assigned when
1. State Labor is applied for ?
2. When state labor gets certified ?
3. When Regional Labor puts the case into their system ?

I would like to know if this code is known to you because of some kind of receipt from the state/regional labor dept ?
Sorry for this basic questions ... I just want to get hold of my case number if I have any !!!
Thanks in advance ... SAts

Currently NY Regional is responding to case # 0250690X, 0250691X recvd on May 4, 2004 by regional office.
I am assuming that regional has responded to all cases before that.
We should be able to measure the rate at which regional processes cases per week? Does anyone has an idea or is anyone doing a research on this.
This information will really help others.

Are you talking about DOT code? I think DOT means Dictionary Of Occupational Titles. I believe it should be attached to your case at beginning by your lawyer or state DOL.

It is hard to figure out the processing rate. It looks like they randomly picked cases from their case piles. For example, today, I found two cases received on 05/04/2004, 02506919 (dot 210.382-014) and 02506924 (dot 030.062-010), were updated on Aug. 16. But there had nothing happened to handful cases I traced around Apirl 28.

Querry from NJ SESA

Yesterday, my Lawyer told me that they received some querries from NJ SESA on my case regarding prevailing wages, asking additional 10 days internal posting and titles of subordinates whom I am supervising.

We can handle the questions on Prevailing wages and titles of subordinates but can anyone tell me, what if we dont receive any resume/response on the internal posting results.

Can we state to NJ SESA that no resumes received after 10 days internal posting? The same thing happened when we filed it in April 2002, it resulted in no resumes.

Did anyone sent similar type of response to DOL (that no resume received) and how it was taken by DOL?

Please Advice.

case # found

Hey guys - I called 212-337-2184 and spoke to someone...he told me my case number (02507339) and that the receipt date was May 13th (and not April 26th as my lawyer told me!)...he also said that they are working on April last week cases. He could not give me any projected date for my case...and said that for future queries to call my lawyer and not this number...

Anyhoo - wanted to let you guys know where I stand...

Hi everyone,

I also just gave them a call. According to my lawyer, NJ forwrded the case on April 13th, but I'm not sure if this was sent 4/13 or received by regional on 4/13.

Regardless, it was certified 8/11. Woo-hoo!!!

CASE#s Up to Date

Case numbers updated till 08/18/2004

My case sent by NJ SESA to DOL: 07/1/2004
Received at NY DOL: 08/12/2004

It took 6 weeks to reach NY DOL

Whats a case no then ?

Thanks SlowLC ... I realised that after I went thorugh the postings here that DOT is just a occupation no. Got lost in the technical names.
I still have no idea what a Case number is .. if State gives it .. or Regional gives it .. if its the same for state and regional or both allot separate numbers ... I am too naive and just started taking an active interest and impressed by the knowledge you guys have regarding this matters ..

State and Regional both have their own case id no's, which means you case will have two numbers.

You can find our your regional case by dialing (212) 337 2184 if your case is approved by STATE and moved to Regional.

state foreign labor certification units -- NYSESA,NJSESA will give a number
when the case is filed at the state..

once it's processed sent to NY Regional DOL .. it will assign another case number... those case numbers will be in order by dates and are in this forum tracker
