New York City Transfers

Was this the first line of clerks where the line forms? I think you should have asked for a ticket to talk to an officer, they can give you more detail.

Thank you Steve for your comment.
Yet, it was not the first line of clerks. I got a ticekt and went to a room on 3rd FL where I was told the story. When I requested more details, the cleark sent me to 8th FL, butthe clerk on 8th FL refused to give me any details.
What a service!!!

Interviewed and stamped

Hi All, thank for all the information I got from this thread.
Our interview was scheduled 4/7 10am and we met the officer at 12pm. Asked regular stuff and waited another half hour for visa number to have passport stamped.

Good luck to all. We went to 26 Federal Plaza twice and we also inquired through congressman. It may help a little.

Medical

I saw people asked about the medical. I also saw people redone the medical and people didn't redo and all get approved. My feeling is that redo medical is unnecessary, but we did medical again anyway. Throw another $100/person for feeling safe, I think it is not bad. See if you want to take the risk of being asked for the new medical result without having it or not to decide what to do. Good luck again.

interview experience

I did the medical again for the interview 4/5/05, The officer asked me for the updated medical, but she didn't really take a closer look at it. I think redoing medical is not neccessary if you are never bothered by that for your personal relief. I really prepared a lot for the interview. I memorized so many things about my job and personal information of me and my wife. But the officer didn't really asked me any of those; only home adress and telephone number. I never expected interview was so simple like that!!! Actually I had been so nervous about the interview because one of my friends had a terrible experience at the interview and got in trouble for that.
So it is really important to meet a nice officer. It is all up to luck. So pray hard about that. Also what I noticed was; it is important to wear properly and nicely to give a good first impression to the officer! I hope everyone in this forum get their interview so soon and get approved.

Hey Guys,

I spoke to my laywer and he said NYC local office has a back log of
18 months if this is true we have a long wait, let the depression begin.

Even my lawyer said so. But, i didnot take him seriously as we have seen many guys here getting interviews in 6-9 months and I know a guy who got interview letter in 3 months.

Hey folks

I think the interview wait maybe correct for 18 months but then again this is USCIS you never know. Some even I have seen getting before 18 months but some like Tata2003 I remember got after 18 months time, It all depends if you are a 245i like myself you will have to take the rougher road but for the people in status getting it sooner.

Well, I came back from the Federal Plaza. First I waited for 3 hr in room on the 3 floor. Towards 3 pm people become so excited they had to call twop times security to escort unhappy constomers. Then they sent me on the 8 floor. The lady on the 8 floor listened to me and promised to help.

More details on my visit. I was kind of the last customer I came about 12, they close 3:30 and my ticket was called about 3:10, there were only 3-5 people left in the room. I came over to the lady officer, told here that my case is employment one and it is pending for a long time which iterfering with my work. She looked for a long time in the computer than gave a green form to fill and transferred me to room 800 on 8th floor. There were like 10 people there my number got called quickly. I told the same to another lady, she called another lady, that one went out to investigate. Than they both went out. In the end the senior lady came out and told me that she could not access my case right now since it was in transfer from one dept. to another (???), but she will see that I get approved soon. Let you know about futher developemnt.

processing time

NYC processing time says 12/16/04.
Hard to believe the update. Last month it was 9/02/02.
What does it mean? If the current processing time is correct,
we should see many people receive interview letter or somthing in a coming month.
